benzodiazepine discussion thread

I just told you I would do it if I can monitor you. Think I am going to trust some home drug test from CVS?

A lot of the conversation here is about benzos... This forum is definitely not anti-benzos.

IME ativan is best for social anxiety, but as I've learned, esp. with benzos, many people have many different opinions. I'd say xanax is damn good as well.

how long does xanax usually last for you? ive only taken it before at night and gone to sleep afterwards so i have no idea how long it actually lasts.
 
My question:

How much does grapefruit juice potentiate benzos?

Does it double it?150% it? How much did you drink and what type of grapefruit juice was it? How long did you wait before consuming the benzo?

In my experience, I can't really "feel" xanax unless I take it with alcohol or weed. And when I do it like that I can "feel" it for about an hour before I fall asleep. (I use quotation marks because the xanax may not be what I am actually feeling.) However I DO find when I wake up the next morning, I feel AMAZING. I feel calm, happy, focused and very relaxed. This tends to last til late morning.
 
After my short benzo experience i discovered how powerful they are. The worst part is that you dont even know you're fucked up cause while you're on them you feel totally sober. However, once my benzos ran out a few weeks later i realized that i was pretty much blacked out, and highly irresponsible for weeks. I calculated that i went through approximately 200 tabs (diazepam, brotizolam, bromazepam, clonazepam) in a few weeks. Prior to this binge I was experiencing horrible anxiety that was making me really depressed. The benzos definetly helped me escape from that for a while, but you cant run from your problems forever. Benzos are great for occassional use, but just dont make the same mistake as me and underestimate the power of them.
 
Benzo addiction is just awful. The only withdrawal that is worse is Fentanyl. I know people who were on 120mg diazepam a day and it took them 18 months to taper & they suffered for the whole 18 months.
 
Well, Depakote would stop the fits and does have SOME sedative properties. I tried it during benzo withdrawal and it wasn't any good at all. If it worked for you, then it may work for others. Good info!
