Benzodiazepine Differences

xanax-hands down best panic attack stopper. it will stop one dead in its tracks, and it only lasts 2-4 hours

diazepam-the most euphoric in my mind especialy if you have no tolerance, but for someone wiht a toelrance you have to eat HANDSFUL. for a beginner, even one 10 mg valium or 2 should fuck you up nice and good

clonazepam-feels liike diazepam kind of but WAYYY heavier, WAY stronger, WAY longer acting, and to me is basicaly a wonder drug. its also extremely euphoric

lorazepam-weak shit but still very nice and relaxing and almost a littel trippy. kind of like a mix of ambien and a VERY low dose of valium or somethign like that

midazolam-extreme benzo, it can kill you on its own unlike other benzos. its extremely amnesiatic hypnotic, and AWESOME! (especialy banged, but please dont do that if your a benzo newb)

triazolam-kicks fucking ass. its like xanax but WAY more amnesiactic, hypnotic, hardcore, and very euphoric. extremely short half life, so they are best fro faling asleep. they will NOT keep you alseep all night.

i think kpin is hands down the best benzo for round the clock anxiety.
xanax is hands down the best benzo for killing a panic atack
triazolam is the best to put you to sleep
Dalmane, is actualy a GREAT drug that is similar to clonazepam in action, but its a hypnotic. it will keep you asleep ALL night long

hope this helps! ive never had the pleasure of trying bromazepam sorry
and also, buspar sucks and is not a benzo at all or anythign like it
peace!

I agree, go for Xanax and something else.

I've never felt anything before on clonazepam, but that's only because I've taken just 1mg at a time. Lots of people seem to love them, so try to get a larger dose, like 2mg at least or 5mg. They're AMAZING to snort. The powder is COLD in your nose, it feels awesome.

yes its s true they are amazing to snort.
2 mg is the Highest dose tehy come in, ANYWHERE.
1 mg is very small. when i was first taking them i always would take 2 mg kpin. i think you shoudl try again and try 2, but be aware it will knock your dick in the dirt hahaha.
to the op: i agree with him. get xanax and clonopin. its teh best mix there is. hits hard and fast as fuck, and lasts, but you wont feel hungover the next day, youll feel calm and relaxed. if youve never done benzos before start low, but probably youll settle on a dose near 1 mf xanax and one mg of klonpin if you are a regular person with NO natural tolerance, and you not HUGE. but, youll gradualy haev to start raising your doses if you want it for fun effects or sleep effects.
if you want it purely for anxiety, that is the only way you wont have to raise your dose. for some reason you dont ever really seem to build a tolerace to the anxiolitic effects. tolerance to ssedation comes first. then euphoria.
then your hooked, and you take pills that dont do anything to you just beacsue if you dont youll feel crazy and freak out and wd

Yeah, info huh. They don't differ that much really.

what about BROMAZEPAM and NITRAZEPAM ,Ive got green coloured 6mg bromaz'e and big 5mg nitrazepam and much smaller ones,Do any of you guys like these 2?

bromazepam is nice

nitrazepam made me psychotic but still felt great. Just pissed at nothing

To the OP

As far as I know diazepam crosses the BBB faster than most orally administered benzos. it is the ONLY benzo that I get any euphoria from. I have been using them off and on since the 70's.

Midazolam may be 'stronger' in it's hypnotic effect but the euphria part I'm not sure of. I've never tried them except under surgical anathesia (sp?). I'll have to order them some time and see.

Halcion's are short acting but potent hypnotics that used to be known as 'forget-me-nots' here because they make you black out.

Barbitutates are more euphoric than benzos. Especially the fast acting Seconal and Tuinals. Those were good.

Out of the commonly Rx'd ones today I still think Valium is king. Xanax is potent but not euphoric to me. Clonazepam is nice but has a slow come on and I find it less sedating. Lorazepam is utterly useless IMO.

Alprazolam is a strong benzo but for me, when I take some I always want to take more until there is none left and black out not remembering a thing, then be in a benzo coma for like 36 - 48 hrs., this is the only thing I dont like about alprazolam.
Clonazepam, to me, is much more enjoyable and lasts waaaayy longer then alprazolam and they are both about the same potency, but clonazepam doesn't make me have amnesia (only on really high doses) which is why I like it more then alprazolam.
Diazepam is my favorite out of all the benzos I've tried so far. Reallly relaxing and somewhat euphoric to me and has muscle relaxant properties on me.
Lorazepam is the least recreational benzo I've tried so far, but it's great for muscle spasms and opiate w/d's. If I had nothing else I would definately take some of this.

I wish I could get ahold of some flunitrazepam, which I know would never happen, and some midazolam. How hard is it to get midazolam prescibed to you in the US? What is it usually prescribed for?

Midazolam is used commonly in dentists offices for short surgical (sp) procedures. Because it wears off relatively quick it's ideal for that purpose. But i hear it's pretty good.

-Lorazepam (Ativan) = I found it being them similar to Diazepam but a little more powerful
-Diazepam (Valium) = Lovely, but tolerance develops very fast. At first, taking them orally makes you feel very relaxed; when you try IM Diazepam relax makes you an addict no matter what. Its very difficult to overdose on this so, its one of the best benzos if you have no tolerance OR have lots of ampoules of this lovely drug.
-Clonazepam (Klonopin) = Stronger than Diazepam, but not super strong. I also find it less relaxing than Diazepam.
Overall, its cheaper than Diazepam and it can be used to replace it, so it is indeed a good benzo.
-Alprazolam (Xanax) = This benzo its strange, at least for me. It doest make me very relaxed or sleepy, but instead happy and fuzzy. Its my preferred choice to take with Tramadol.
-Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) {The famed roofie} = This are NOT so powerful at the beginning, they takes a pretty long time to hit me, but when you finally get asleep, be prepared for a 12-14 hours of non stop sleeping. They are GREAT for sysadmins's weekends that are not on duty, so you can turn off your pager/Nextel and get the sleep you deserve.
-Bromazepam (Lexotanil or Lexotan) = I found these benzos similar to Clonazepam, but more relaxing, and less "stoning". I actually like them.
-Midazolam (Dormicum) = These are the best after Diazepam probably. They are POWERFUL, hit very fast, last 3 hours more or less, and more importantly, you can IV them easily and get the so much chased benzo rush.
-Clorazepate (Tranxene) = No idea.
-Buspirone (it may be a non-benzo but it's very similar from what ive heard) = No idea,

i liked temazepam, best euphoria, clonazepam helped for anxiety, but didnt want to wait for the come up on them. loved valium with grapefruit juice, but long ass come up. ativan killed the memory too much, kinda weirded me out. and xanax. mm hmmm love my xanax. comes on fast.

Flunitrazepam is the best one. You can suck them - tastes good - and smoke them. Clonazepam is good the first 3 days bvut if
you eat them daily, they're lousy. Tranxene - chlorazepat, is the only benzo that is worse than librium, totally useless. Triazolam - Halcion - is powerful but very shortacting, best way to eat them is in a combination with alprazolam.

If you are not anxiety-ridden, benzos are not especially addictive, since they do not produce euphoria but rather dizziness, tiredness and stupidity. And also amnesia. How fun is that? But if you are a nervous wreck - like most ppl nowadays - you will interpret these qualities as euphoric.

only had experience with one of those lorazepams...

pretty fun id like to get my hands on xanax and valium

as far as lorazepam goes its weird with tolerance some people take 1 and there fucked i just took 5mg and im nice relaxed almost like an unco-ordinated soft, not-trippy weed buzz. I also did busp tonight (was gonna do 2-5mg snort) but i saw 2 people say it was good for em and everyone else dreaded it so i was like fuck that... Haven't got a source for anyof these "technically"

anyone got any suggestions on zoplicone for rec?

buspirone is not a benzo nor does it have effects like benzos, docs just prescribe it to those with anxiety and have a history of drug abuse. it sucks. really. it made my anxiety worse. it needs to get off the market.

no benzo is good to snort really except triazolam, Flunitrazepam and midazolam and even they are questionable.

i had an addiction to benzos for a while and i can tell u from my experience that the withdrawals were more mentally stressful then going through my opiates withdrawals. with the opiates i just felt like i had the flu, and thats actually what i thought was wrong with me until i saw a doctor who referred me to the methadone clinic. benzos withdrawals on the other hand sent me mentally crazy; couldnt sleep, couldnt think, every thought i had was irrational and illogical, anxiety went through the roof (definitely MUCH more then before i started using them), and i just started acting like a crazy man in general. mind you it took about 3 days off the shit for my withdrawals to get this bad with benzos, however the dope sickness from opiates started the next day soon after waking up.

in saying all that i still occasionally take valium when i am stressed out anxious or having tremors, i find valium to be quite mild it doesnt make me sleepy or euphoric. my favorite benzo by far is temazepam it just knocks you on your ass especially with a beer, 50mg temazepam and 2 beers and i have trouble walking straight. my second favorite benzo would have to be xanax although i have only tried it a couple times when i do take it i find that its more of a of a head/mind relaxing experience rather then a full body experience i get from temazepam or a good dose of valium. I guess the only reason i pick xanax before valium is because i just need so many of them to get any recreational effects.

All of the benzos bind to the GABA A subunits α1, α2, α3 and α5. Length of action depends on how metabolically labile the drug is and how many active metabolites it has.

Both 2,4 diazepine and to a lesser extent the 2,5 type are usually the base structure. Then you have to consider the benzo ring. NO2, Cl or Br are almost always used in the 7 position (but N=N=N is used in a subclass that only binds with the a3 subunit). Then you have to consider if the amide is secondary or tertiary (the triazolo ring solves this issue). The second benzene ring can have a halogen at the 2 position (or the benzene is replaced by a 2 pyridine ring) which increases binding.

Although they bind to 4 subreceptors, their exact binding must vary from type to type (as will the t1/2). If someone could unearth some binding data on those 4 subtypes then we would have a much clearer understanding of the underlying action of these compounds.

Oh, of course the strongest benzo, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is Zolazepam which is used to knock out large animals like horses and cows. It's readily water soluable. Adding a triazolo ring to the Zolazepam skeleton would almost certainly increase potency some more.

Oh what the hell, here we go again with the benzo game! These are my experiences:

-Lorazepam (Ativan): Excellent medication for anxiety. Not much in terms of recreation. Very clear-headed though, less amnesia than other benzos. Not much muscle-relaxation. Duration of subjective (NOT half-life) effects around 5hrs .

-Diazepam (Valium): My favourite. Seem to be the most balanced in terms of being a relaxant, anti-anxiety, and sleeping medication. Moderate amnesia. I feel it for around 6-8hrs, but stay anxiety-free to the next day.

-Clonazepam (Klonopin): I found this very similar to alprazolam (see below) except it is less stupefying and lasts around 6 hrs.

-Alprazolam (Xanax): The one I hate the most. It does either one of two things: either mkes me feel tired and stupid and depressed and useless, or puts me to sleep. Duration around 3-4hrs.

-Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) {The famed roofie}: Never tried, but apparently like Nitrazepam, which is similar to clonazepam but a bit more enjoyable.

-Bromazepam (Lexotanil or Lexotan): Very good benzo. Very similar to diazepam, but less sedating. A bit shorter acting. Better for anxiety, but a bit less muscle-relaxant and sedating. Duration around 5hrs.

-Midazolam (Dormicum): Very "heavy". But also very short-lasting (1hr max). Somewhat relaxing, but amnesia is through the roof. Also dangerous in terms of respiratory depression. One of the least "useful" of benzos for me.

-Clorazepate (Tranxene): Never tried, but everyone seems to agree that this has nothing good going for it.

-Buspirone (it may be a non-benzo but it's very similar from what ive heard): This is absolute garbage. It does nothing that benzos do, it limits your creativity and intelligence, and it makes you sick for 3 days. Its a failed anti-psychotic. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

I say this in every thread, but the effects of benzodiazepines are very subjective. I could give you a list of what benzos I like and why, but it probably wouldn't be the same for you. The only way to figure out which benzos give you the most desirable effects is to try them. Personally I prefer diazepam and clonazepam the most for a daytime benzo, and I like nitrazepam and temazepam as a sleep aid.

There was, until recently, lorazepam 2,5 mg tablets in Sweden, called Temesta (the European trade name for lorazepam).

I don´t know about recently...
According to the Swedish Medical Agency the 2.5mg (these were actually sublingual) were taken off the market in march 1999. Now all we have are the 1mg....
