hey there,

Any suggestions for reducing the effects of klonopin withdrawl dramtically? I am a definite lover of the downers I think because of serious anxiety issues since childhool. Anyho, dosent matter how I got here, Dr.s continue prescribing and I kept taking (also loving it) but now find myself in a position with 3 young children to be at least of sound mind! Have PDoc who is tapering me way to quickly. Is there anything else that you think would help. Already taking 2400mg gabapentin, does help a little, but I fear the hell is just beginning, she wants me to taper from 7-8mgK down to 4mg. Ok Hell has arrived. Any suggestions would be helpful. The only other thing I can think of is find a Dr. who is willing to prescribe that amount until he/she or me are no longer alive. Not in a suicidal way but old age. Thanks

Well OP, you did tell the dr that you need to be of sound mind and it's interfering with your life --- they best thing to do, what they are trying to do, is taper you down and maybe get you comfortable on a lower dose that gives you more of an ability to function. I think the dr is just trying to help you with the request you gave them. I can't understand why in the same post you want a dr to just give you the same dosage...isn't that specifically what you asked him not to do ?

thanks for your quick response. I have no problem with the dosage, I have just been told by so many drs to stop or reduce the amounts. Perhaps that is the right amont for me as babygirl suggested. I am confused in the information i am receiving - stay on them- taper down-never ever mention this again kind of bull. I am willing to try but receive so much conflicting info. is someone has some good direction I would apprecite it. I dont recall saying it was interfering with my life, but feel that being sooooooo dependant on someting is not good in your life at all, love, sex etc.......

Is there a specific doctor that you are seeing? You said doctors , so do they know that others are also prescribing this to you? You should find one doctor that you trust and see what he thinks, there are many conflicting opinions out there of course, it's up to you to do your own research and find out if benefits outweigh the risks or not for you.

if it were me id find some valium or some temporary substitute
