Benzo withdrawal and LOW GFR - glomerular filtration rate

I have been tapering colonozapam 1mg daily...now at 0.8 mg...but i found our my GFR is 75 ...and I am 36 years old. I also take ecitalopram 10mg.

DO you think Benzo wqithdrwal reduced my GFR? please help i am worred. If someone has some articles please link.

Off the top of my head I can't think how benzo withdrawal could in any way damage your kidneys/lower your GFR.. things that do that usually include diabetes, hypertension (over a long period of time), NSAIDs and other nephrotoxic (kidney-damaging) drugs, dehydration, sometimes just bad genes or general unluckiness, and sometimes it is just a random temporary thing.

Will have a think though. Have you asked your doctor? Are they looking into it? Good luck with coming off the clonazepam!

Suggests you have "stage 2 kidney damage" which to me is shocking.

How long were you on the clonaz for? You should speak with a medical professional ASAP. Granted I presume you have to come up with this specific GFR calculation, but regardless, you should ask a Dr about you next best course of action (or 2 or 3 doctors, and a specialist for kidneys).

The first doc i saw said since serum creatine is 1.13 mg/dl from which this GFR is estimated...any idea friends?
