Hello,
I have been taking 1mg of klonopin for 10 days. I am stopping. Will there be any WD? Or is 10 days to short?
 
You should be fine. Don't even think about it because a lot of withdrawal is mental. Tapering would probably do more harm than good since the duration that you are on a medication plays a large role in withdrawals, so even if you were lowering your dose over a week and then stopped, the extra week of putting that drug into your system would likely do more harm than good. If you were taking that for a month or so then I would say taper, but not for 10 days.
 
thank you both. How long can you take benzos and stop without wd?
I get nervous w wd but sometimes need to take it for a wk or so... What is safe? 10 days max?
or maybe 14 days?
 
12 days :| No, everybody is different so we can't tell you the magical amount of time it takes to go from being able to stop without experiencing withdrawal or not. I wouldn't push it if I were you. Your best bet is to stop now, and limit your use to once or twice a week if you really need it. Since it has a long half-life using it even just 2x a week results in you having some of the drug in your system pretty much all the time, so that could obviously cause dependence.
 
Yea, other than maybe one or two nights of your sleep being limited, but that might not be an issue for you. Like I said, everybody is different. You are in a position where it's safe to stop the medication without having to worry about dangerous withdrawals, so I wouldn't even think about it if I were you.

Probably better advice than most doctors would give.
 
I've been on k-pins for 2 months now....1mg a day....when hurricane Sandy hit which was like 6 days ago, I ran out of k-pins...I'm fine...and you should be fine as well.
 
Also can you be safe taking benzos for a few days say 3-4 days in a row and then stop for 4 days then start 3-4 days agin. Is that 4 day gap enough time to start over?

And one more question. How many days after your last dose would you say you'd feel wd? speaking specifically of a 1MG klon or a 10mg valium.
 
i take 2.5 mg of kpin 1x a week with no unwanted side effects. other than wanting to take more, or a shorter acting one. ive never tried redosing on klonopin, anyone know how effective that is? i know xanax you can redose, but likely blackout after so much, but i find clonazepam gets dull after about 4 hours, once the peak is over. i do really like the peak tho. is klonopin even worth redosing ?? the half life is so long, i figure why add the benzo to my plasma for double the length of time, for less of a high?
 
You'll definitely be okay, I suggest after stopping to take supplements like tyrosine, theanine, gaba, and vitamin B complex (I also take valarian root an hour before bed). This helped me kick my benzo addiction so it should help you as well ;)
