So I have been prescribed 2mg xanax xr in the past and it worked decently and I am going to see the doctor today about switching back to it from 60mg of restoril and it crossed my mind to ask you guys if there were any other extended release benzos that worked well for anxiety over a long period (more than 8 hours) or even non xr benzos with long half lifes.
Thanks for any help

Hi. Clonazepam comes to my mind. Long half-life and pretty potent.

Why you coming off the Xanax im about to go to the doctor to try to get on em. They keep trying to give me antidepressants which don't work. I took .05s the peach ones for a while i was buying them off the street and i felt great. But the damn doctor just don't wanna give em to me. They've tried like 4 different antidepressants with me and nothing. Im i wanna mention the Xanax but im afraid he will think im drug seeking. Which I dont even really do drugs i just suffer from anxiety real bad i hope i get a different outcome this time. Im tired of suffering.

Hi Eur0, welcome to BDD!

Restoril (temazepam) isn't the best for anxiety, it's more of a hypnotic (sleep-promoting) as opposed to anxiolytic benzo so I am not surprised it didn't work well for your anxiety.. I don't know about extended release, but clonazepam and diazepam both have long half-lives. This is more of a discussion for you to have with your doctor though, we can't tell you which benzo is best to treat your anxiety... so I'm going to close this. If you have any queries feel free to shoot me a pm :)
