benzo problem

im not sure what to say to my doc to get me a higher dose? i was taking 12mgs xans a day and he has me down to 2mgs a day now just at bed. he weaned me down this fast from the end of october this year. he seems to think he weaned me very slow, and any complications im having will just go away. there not. i have panic attacks and dont sleep at all. it effects my job and focus as well. i don't want to lose this job but im going crazy here. if i just go check in somewhere i risk losing my job as a chef. complicate things with money with my wife. im stuck here with a problem i dont know how to address. long history of drug problems. lots of rehabs. none since 2002 cause i stopped drinking and using pain meds all together. now the benzo problem
 
Welcome marsnd. :) I'm sorry about the problems you've been having. Unfortunately, we can't tell you what to say to your doctor in order to to up your dosage. You might be able to get some moral support from the compassionate people over at The Dark Side.

I am so sorry to hear that coming off of alprazolam is really difficult for you; I can only imagine being on that dosage for a prolonged period of time.

I would ask your doctor for blood pressure meds, and other non-benzo alternatives to keep your body in a functional state.
 
Hi marsnd, I'm sorry to hear about your xanax problem.I had a similar problem myself two years ago,except my doctor cut me off cold turkey from 6mg a day.Needless to say I ended up in the ER from panic attacks and mild seizures.
Can you try and get xanax from a different doctor? How about having a drink or two before bed to potentiate the xanax a little? Have you tried Seroquel?When my doctor cut me off xanax he prescribed Seroquel which at least helped me sleep a little,although it didn't do much for the panic.
