Hello bluelight,

I know its not safe to combine benzos with opiates, but how severe is such a thing??

If I took 5mg of Diazepam 4 days ago, would It be a risk to take 15MG oxycodone tomorrow?

Is it just not safe to take together?? or is the long diazepam half-life a dangerous variable?.
 
You will be fine having taken a low dose of diazepam 4 days ago followed by a low dose of oxycodone now. It's when you take them together that they become dangerous, or within 24 hours of one another.
 
not dangerous if it's not at the same time! and even if it were together, using low doses of each is pretty much fine
 
I'm taking 10mg diazepam twice a day and 100mg H a day also. Why am i alive? Because i'm prescribed benzos for years now, tolerance. Be careful tho.

Not saying you're incorrect, Jane, but given that benzos and opiates together is right up at the top of the list of causes for fatal overdose, I don't think you'd ever want to down-play the combination. Especially given that "low-doses" is a completely relative term, as boomhs points out above....

Not only that, but certain benzos have such a long half life that occasionally you'll forget that you're still feeling effects..

Also, not to jack this thread, but would it actually be dangerous to take 1-2 mg of xanax, without a tolerance, 30 minutes before taking 30mg hydrocodone? The largest dose of hydrocodone I've taken was 45mg, and I haven't used opiates in about a month.

It can be very dangerous as SCAG mentioned above.

You don't have much of a tolerance & you wanna pop 30mgs hydro with possibly 2 MG's of xanax. Dangerous combo if you don't have a tolerance to both.

Pop the hydrocodone one day & the xanax another day by itself.

If you really wanna try both together, maybe like 1/2 mg xanax with 10mg of hydrocodone to see what it feels like. I'm saying this in case you don't want to listen to our cautionary statements & are still gonna try it.

You can always take more "another day" if you think it wasn't enough but you can't undo if you've taken too much.
