Hi all, I've been on xanax for 2 years, a few months ago I upped my dosage and realized I wasn't getting erections...I was very horny before this and had no problem in that department, I switched to diazepam for different reasons a few days ago (20mg) and it's even worse now...Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, it happens. But haven't we already covered this? Did you ever try clonazepam? I'd be suprised if 10mg diazepam BID was causing significant problems with ED. Have you looked into other factors? Are you currently on any other medications?

People generally blame erectile dysfunction on things in their environment or a medication they are taking before looking at themselves and finding the deeper cause as most of the time its all a mental problem not a physical one. Its still a problem though which needs to be addressed usually By a phycologist to find the cause of your erectile dysfunction before you start taking pills or stop taking a medication.
You say you've been horny in the past before benzos but did you have sex all the time before going on benzos? Do you wake up in the morning or night with an erection? If so these are all signs its something mental troubling you and it needs to be addressed before getting worse or starts taking over other aspects of your life.

Nope, nothing else...My doc is reluctant to prescribe clonaz as its not used a lot over here for anxiety and he doesn't know enough about it. It's frustrating because Diazepam works wonders for my anxiety...I'm on no other medications...Would the ED go away after a while or would it persist?

I used to jerk off 3-5 times daily, when I was on xanax .5mg a day it had no effect on my ED, I have a girlfriend and we have a lot of sex...When I'd take diazepam to sleep I'd wake up having trouble getting an erection...It's definitely not psychological

Etizolam can give me a bit of a hard time getting and maintaining an erection, but I blame that on the fact it increases prolactin release. To my knowledge it's rather unique for doing so, xanax every time I've taken it has not given me erectile problems...
