Benzo Highs - 3mg Xanax

I've been off and on benzos for several years. For me, personally, I don't recall ever once having a "fun" experience. What it does for me is simply cause me not to give a shit about anything, and, if I take a slightly higher than recommended dose, I'll get an hour or two of slightly drunken-feeling, forgetfulness, then just drowsiness and slightly increased depression. I've tried 5-6 different benzos, but really they've all had the same effect. It's one drug, on its own, I don't recommend at all for a good time. It helps some people sleep, it helps most everyone with anxiety (if only for a half a day or so on one dose, depending), but it's useless for recreation.

For example, this morning, I took 3mg of Xanax, as I'd taken 2mg (per my psych for anxiety - though he wrote the script for 1mg x2 a day, am and pm, not 2mg at once) before a couple days before and thought I'd might have had slight buzz, and thought I'd try to the ever-elusive "euphoria" some people talk about. I got nothing but very tired, then nauseous :! (took a Zofran, which helped only somewhat), layed down and couldn't sleep, just felt like, well, I felt like shit. I am officially done with benzos. Yes, some might enjoy them, but not me. I think these might even be dangerous for those with depression issues.

Honestly, I think benzos are good for one thing: reducing anxiety once in a while - which is exactly what they are designed to do. Any rec use is pointless, and mixing them with booze or anything else seems to me a pointless risk. I'd rather have a couple Norco every so often than even try this crap again for any kind of high.

Lol who told you benzos were recreational?

I take benzos (mainly Xanax and Valium) for long journeys, a relaxing Sunday, dosing for drinking (less than equivalent to 1mg Xanax) and when I'm coming down off stimulants.

If you think taking 2mg+ Xanax was ever gonna be fun then you're clearly misled on it's "recreational" abilities. It's a chill pill bruv.

That's just your view man.... Most people with relative to severe anxiety will find beno's very recreational in the sense that to them they are euphoric and relaxing, and a refuge from constant angst.....

They are also wonderful for come-downs whether you have anxiety or not... xxmg valium/temazepam etc will turn a nasty comedown into a chilled out relaxing session....

I agree no rec value on benzos, lota of people think that too. But imo theyre a valuable tool to get through anxiety and stress. A few mgs of clonazepam and im sweet going out and doin somthing without dreadful anxiety and negative thoughts

I found seven bars last night from a old script.....Like you I took one bar and haven't had xanax in over a year. All it did was make me tired and sleepy.....benzos only make people euphoric when their dealing with extreme anxiety that cripples them....and I mean anxiety that is beyond your typical anxiety. Since my anxiety has been in check for five years due to many different benzos but mainly klonopin.....I really just don't get that high anymore.

^exactly. When I was having terrible anxiety with panic attacks, the relief that benzos gave me was its own sense of contented euphoria. Not euphoria in a traditional opiate-y sense, but absolute pleasure in relative normality. I always found moderate to higher doses recreational, in the sense that lowered/eliminated inhibitions are awesome compared to normally crippling social anxiety.

OP thats your opinion. i find benzos recreational and would take them over opiates any day, but i also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.

If you are stuck with xanax er try dissolving it in coffee. They might not be water soluble but they are in coffee.

Depends on what your definition of "recreational" is, I guess. If the only qualifier for "recreational" is "a substance that produces a euphoric rush", then no, they're not recreational, at least not for most users. Sometimes you'll hear people say that some of the a2 receptor benzos (ie temazepam, triazolam, flunitrazepam etc) are euphoric but I don't think so personally.

But marijuana doesn't produce euphoria for me most of the time, esp. after I've smoked continuously for a while, and I still consider that to be recreational. I actually think that benzodiazepines are recreational at therapeutic doses, or at least they are with my particular body chemistry. I don't understand people who think that taking more and more benzos will somehow make them more and more high. All that does is make you more and more stupid. I mean all drugs baseline out at some point but abusing benzos seems particularly dumb to me.

I dont think its euphoric to the general populace but if you live with severe anxiety and its suddenly erased by a benzo, it is something like euphoria. Because of this, Xanax makes me feel good for a few hours. Just like pot makes me feel good for a couple hours. I hope you can understand in that sense how some people might mention recreation or euphoria.

Ive heard a lot of people have negative reactions like you but Ive seen a lot of people with positive reactions. To each his own, as long as youre taking care not to become dependant.

I remember going three months of massive OCD anxiety that left me only wanting to lay down the anxiety was so bad.....I took 1 mg klonopin and it felt like XTC no joke.....I can feel my back loosen up and the nerves in my skin where very sensitive to every little touch like wind or a seat and whatever.....This is after having anxiety I would only wish on those who don't believe that it was real for a few hours......It was amazing. I took klonopin a couple times before that time and they where nothing compared to it just melting away.

Benzos certainly due hold rec value, in MODERATION. If you use them once in a while, and never for consecutive days in a row, they certainly due provide pleasure in their own right. But the thing is, it is so easy to lose the rec value once the abuse starts. And once lost, you may never be able to get it back.

Now if one is expecting to get pronounced euphoria or absolutely blasted from benzos they are just asking for trouble and will be sorely dissappointed. If one is just trying to get a little goofy and laid back, benzos can offer great recreational value for such play.

But it is a slippery slope, especially when you start adding alcohol to the mix to increase pleasure.

Personally a low dose psilocybin and benzo combo brings me to a very special place, as does other mild doses of psychedelics as well as cannabis.

Funny thing, isn't it? I feel goofy when I take ativan, even slightly euphoric, but one time I took xanax which is supposed to hold more rec value than ativan, and I felt literally nothing. I figured maybe the pills were old and had deteriorated? All they made me feel was lethargic, whereas the ativan provided 'silly' feelings.

Etizolam gives me just as equally goofy feelings, which in turn produce a unique sense of well being and enjoyment, not a pronounced euphoria such as when I would combine psilocybin or cannabis with lorazepam, but simply a giddy, happy feeling.

Still want to give flubber a taste, http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/654337-Flubromazepam/page14

Etizolam worries me to much tbh, I don't trust myself taking it.
