does anyone else get horrable hiccups when using benzos? everytime i take xanax klonopin or etizolam i get hiccups that dont go away for a least a day later. its getting so annoying that im considering not taking them anymore. i only take them every once in a while and never in particularly large doses. any advice?

I've never heard of this before, but my best guess would be maybe trying lower doses of benzos. Maybe you're getting hiccups cuz you're taking too much. I've seen people get hiccups from drinking too much alcohol or from taking too much nicotine.

Yes ive experienced this but usually only at higher than therapeutic doses or at lower ones when combined with a beer or two, and they usually go away within an hour. Try lowering your dose maybe ?

I've gotten them on high doses, which I rarely took. So about once every couple of months when I would take like 60-80mg of valium (my normal dose was 5-10mg) I would get them for a few hours. Never any issues the next day though.

No, but taking high doses of etizolam for a long enough time makes one of my fingers and eyelids twitch every so often. Stops once I stop the etizolam. GHB did the same thing with the finger if I remember correctly.

Never heard of it.

Take some buscopan, works well for hiccups.

Use to happen when I first started taking xanax and etiz. Best solution is a spoon full or two of peanutbutter. Works every time, I guarantee it.

Yup, I get that when I take a lot of benzos. Weapon of choice Bromazepam, so its not specific to one particular benzo, just higher doses.

strangely enough this latest batch of etiz hasnt been doing it, tho the last batch gave me hiccups like crazy. wierd.

Well, I'm more likely to get hiccups drinking alcohol, but have gotten them from benzos before but more of the times I got the hiccups on benzos I probably don't remember lol

I have benzo hiccups. They are not like full blown hiccups but little spasm like hiccups no as strong as regular ones. Most annoying.
