Benzo hiccups, tips and tricks welcom

I know this question has been asked, but I've never found quite the definite answer that I'm looking for

I take 1mg of klonopin every day, which give me hiccups that usually subside after an hour (they're very loud and noticeable.)
Seeing as I had today off, I decided I'd take 2mg about two hours ago to just relax and fall asleep early. Fifteen minutes after I took them, I started having a hiccup each breath. They've slowed down in the last half hour, but it's still 1 every 2 minutes.

I've eaten healthy today, no soda, nothing too much that causes hiccups after a meal. it is, unfortunately, getting close to dinner time and hiccups make my meal unenjoyable. I also can't smoke anything. I'm sure it's the benzos as I get hiccups and yawns from most of them.

I know hiccups aren't completely known why they happen, but I'm assuming benzo hiccups are due to slightly slowed body functions, causing spasms to keep them alert? I'm not as well versed on anatomy as I should... I've been told they could be psychosomatic, but there are times where I rush out of the door and completely forgot if I took my medicine, but then I'll be followed by hiccups.

Is there any way to combat them? How do you personally deal with them? A small meal, mild exercise, drinking lots of water? Any advice would please help

also mods move this if you think it'll get better responses somewhere else..

Also, I realize that it could be dose-dependant, but it seems to only be with klonopin. Xanax, ativan and valium don't cause more than a couple of hiccups for me, and it's just odd to me that a side effect would be so prevalent at such a low dose.

I've checked my reflex time and heart rate and they're both find, if just slightly slower. Speech seems to be a little slurred but the hiccups are my only real problem. It's just such a weird side effect

I don't know if it applies to benzo hiccups for for regular ones I hold my breath...

You gotta hold it a really long time though I mean well over a minute the longer the better chance they go away. Just my experience.
