I think xanax blows valium out of the water, for hangovers - and for anxiety, for that matter. I've stated this loads of times. I don't know why it is.

Tonight I want to sleep.

On the comedown of 100mg methadone and 450mg pregabalin, I'll take 800mg meprobamate and two milligrams lormetazepam before bed. I think that will suffice.

It worked! 15mg nitraz and 10mg diaz and i got 4 hours then another 2 :D sleep never felt so good . relapsed now so i'll be okay for a bit, then its deja vu ha.

My current situation for the last 8 weeks I've been taking Diaz, probably within a week or so my schedule is

8am -10mg

10am -10mg

12- -10mg

2pm-10mg

2pm -10mg

4pm - 10mg

6pm - 10mg


8pm- 30 mg

10pm-30mg


Plus about 10 units of alcohol in the evening.

I'm on DPs (mirtazapine) I've been on them for a few weeks after a number of bad reactions not SSRIs.

My question is how quickly do you think a can taper the Diaz?

I know I've been taking quite a lot a but what would people suggest as the most aggressive withdrawal....I need to get off of all meds ASAP, its just decision I've made for reasons that aren't relevant to the question.

I've only been taking this shit for 8 weeks

What would be the fastest but most aggressive taper without the risk of seizure

I am the worst in the world at tapering off anything, previous attempts with alcohol and even though I was using 15-20 units a day it was a total waste of time I gave up cold turkey and to a large extent was fine, same with coke and speed as well as a 15 year cannabis habit...and the obvious cigarettes.


Would alcohol help at all ?

That's a lot of diaz, atm. Eight weeks isn't an eternity, but with those quantities you're likely to suffer unless you taper.

As for alcohol, I'm not the person to advise anybody on this right now. We have some successful benzo-taperers who post here often though, so I expect they'll have something to offer. Which would also be of use to me in the near future.

So c'mon EADD - show us what you've got.

Honestly i would just go to the docs and get a proper taper set up rather than try to do it yourself if you find tapering hard (like you did with alcohol).

It takes alot of willpower to taper benzos on your own. And took me 9 months from a docs taper to finally get clean. I was doing them alot longer than 8 weeks though, but never at 100mg+ a day.

Yeah, get help from a doc, that's a lot of diazepam, and eight weeks is not insignifiant.

I have another drug counselor appointment in about 2 weeks, my GP is a load of shite and wouldn't have a clue, I'd get better info from the Heather Ashton paper (which I have read but it doesn't really deal with such short term use)

having read quite a bit now on the net, unless someone can convince me there is a really good reason why not I'm going for an aggressive taper, keeping my good friend the booze on hand for those rough nights.

10mg when I get up.

I reckon I can go until at least 12pm then do 10mg (that means I can only take only one tab to work)

Then another 10mg about 8pm with a shed load of booze

I'll cut the day time dose first after a week and see how it goes

They way I feel at the moment maybe a seizes is just that wakeup call I need

booze is a terrible idea for benzo tapering man! its a gaba-a agonist too and just fucks the receptors even more!

Be careful, atm. Benzo withdrawal is a serious matter and that 'wake up call' of a seizure isn't a fun thing, and you might not wake up at all if not done correctly.

I think the best advice HR-wise is that above - go to see a doctor. If you do self-taper though, watch the booze. It's all too easy to impair your judgment with that alone, never mind in combination with benzos. Plus I don't need to remind you it's an addictive, destructive (and very seductive) bastard itself.

What your saying about the booze just makes me think I may not react in the same way as some do to messin with those receptors, I waas drinking average 15 units of alcohol for mmorevthan 2 years and just gave up cold turkey....maybe I have Tiger blood:D

heh, maybe so, but 15 units of booze a day probably ment you had a fair few hours still with no booze downregulating the receptors, with diazepam it stays in your system for up to a week or so, so you have had your gaba-a receptors at a constant state of downregulation for 8 weeks and a further week or two after stopping (if you went cold turkey), or still for the whole time you taper.

Sorry if that makes no sense, all im saying is benzo withdrawal is very serious and can be fucking miserable for weeks/months on end if not done right.

And yeah, benzos have the same effect on my cock too. Though it's not been called into action for anything other than autoerotic purposes lately, so maybe that's a bonus seeing as without them I'm a super-horny monster. Which wouldn't be a problem were it not for the fact that in my current state the only 'action' I'm likely to get is with the severely mentally ill.

But surely the booze I would still be taking would help, the goverment advice says no more than 4 weeks on Diaz...I think its fair to say we can double that for the real world since there so namby pamby. I accetpt they arent talking about 100mgs a day but

I absolutely love benzos.

Have had so many good times w/ Zopiclone (which is not exactly a benzodiazipine, but still). It makes me creative, happy and it activates me into doing a lot of things I just can't be arsed doing when sober. Unfortunately my prescriptions were cut, and at the moment I'm broke, so I can afford to purchase it off the street either.

Anyone else blindly in love with the Z-drugs?
