Benzo Discussion v4

yes, ive tried all the antihistamines.
I am in the same position as you, If I am ever lucky enough to get prescribed pain medication for my health problems it won't work due to several years of self medication. Really sorta shot myself in the foot there, but honestly I don't think I would have kep going if i hadnt self medicated so.

Hate how they banned carisopradol in the EU. I'd use that instead of valium or clonazepam for muscle relaxation.

Good grief Mercc, taking 12mg clonaz on top of pregabalin and phenibut, daily... no wonder the 20mg temazepams don't help you sleep.

I'd suggest you try a non-benzo hypnotic.. have you ever tried Trazodone? Hit me like a brick, even when I had a hefty benzo tolerance. Acts within 30-45 minutes and sedates for quite a while (not so short-acting as, say, Zolpidem). Slight grogginess in the morning.

Mitrazepine (Remeron) is another option. It is an SSRI, but taken in very low doses it acts as a powerful hypnotic. Try 7.5mg. You'll gain mad weight if you use it daily, even more so than with most other SSRI's, you may or may not care about that. The sedative buzz from mitrazepine is, IMO, very pleasant.

Then there are the antihistamines like Promethazine, they work quite well as hypnotics for me. Promethazine has a slow onset and lasts for ages though, so I often suffer hangovers from it.
'Antipsychotics' such as Seroquel will knock you out as well, may be useful to use once a week or so (rotating your sleeping meds).

Promethazine doesnt work, ive taken up to 200mg+ with no luck.

Seroquel does work in a pinch but that leaves me more braindead then not sleeping for a few days.

those pink roche I had were 25mg valium if that's what arrives will be a bonus for u :)

That's the kind've valium I'd like to see! Means I could switch back to diaz from clonaz.
Although valium makes me much more stupider the next day when I feel sober.

Mercc96, maybe you should try to find flunitrazepam (rorphynol), but i think it's maybe difficult to find...(in UK)..i wish Europe hadn't banned carisoprodol, too..great potentiator..(i'm on opiods, except benzos). Anyway, hope you'll find a nice solution to your problem..<snip>

I'm waiting for stronger vals, i'm glad to hear that there is a chance to be released..i like diaz, but i think that 30mg pills would be great, as i shouldn't have to take 10-12 10mg pills for starting dose..:)
<snip>..Hallo to all Europians Bl'ers..%)

This behaviour is normal for quite some benzodiazepines. Also note that the effects of most benzodiazepines with even small amounts of alcohol are seriously aggravated. A guy on the Erowid forum recently confessed to vomiting and complete blackout with only 4mg Xanax and a couple of beers.

I was prescribed 1mg tabs of flunitrazepam last year (NL) for sleep when I was taking 3x 50mg oxazepam daily, 'twas very effective at first but after just a week my tolerance had doubled, is probably not a sustainable sleeper for Mercc

Nitrazepam works better than temazepam for me as it has a little more of a punch so to say. With temazepam/valium etc I kinda just feel happy and relaxed but with nitrazepam theres a definite sedation and 'wonk' to it that makes me alot more tired and ready to sleep than anything else I have used (other than GHB, but thats just knocking oneself unconscious).

My absolutely favorite of the fast-acting punchy benzo's (that I have had) was Midazolam. The 15mg tabs.

Alprazolam and flunitrazepam would round off that top 3. Not that I'd recommend any of those for daily use if you're already on 12mg clonazepam + other GABAnergics.

You knows it.

One of the few who appreciate the Moggies . Usually it's older Folks as well cos not that many youngsters get Nitrazepam .
You get Teamzes don't you ?

Dude said he does:

I am currently prescribed 20mg of Temazepam to help me sleep ( taking 30mg due to tolerance) and as you would expect its doing absolutely nothing to help. I've used illicit Nitrazepam in the past with much better results but I am unsure whether asking my doctor for another hypnotic is a risky move as she might take me off Temazepam all toghether.

How do you go about asking for Dalmane, Zolpidem or Mogadon? Without sounding off massive alarm bells?

Dalmane and zolpidem i find rather worthless for the effect they can deliver, but mogadon or any of those two others a request for those makes me doubt about alarmbells. Oh i see you want another hypnotic while you already get temazepam well that is something else you will probably get a no or else the temazepam goes and you get 5 mg mogadon so being used to 30 mg temazepam the nitrazepam cannot fill in for temazepam, except if the dose would be high enough like 10-15 mg mogadon.

If mogadon worked better for you in the past then if my memory serves me well enough 5 mg mogadon equals 10 mg diazepam or 20 mg temazepam so if i happen to be correct about the numbers then you minimally need 10 mg nitrazepam, but a doctor who writes for nitrazepam and temazepam together those are rare.
Zolpidem is one of the Z drugs, but one of these Z drugs is rather potent its zopiclone, while zolpidem and zaleplon are good for people who just start a substance in case of sleeping problems still potent or not when i talk zopiclon or eszopiclon respectively you would need 15 and 6 mg to fill in for 30 mg temazepam, but whereas temazepam can give you a buzz all the other stuff you mentioned wont do that, except for nitrazepam.

These so called Z drugs attach to exactly the same receptors as benzo's do, but since they are used as sleeping aids they have a stronger action at the alpha 1 subtype and that again makes a substance like that a hypnotic.
Trying to get a buzz using zopiclon will only result in black outs so why not forgetting about the whole nonsense to ask double the temazepam amount so 40 mg or else 30 mg if your doc thinks you take 20 mg?
Anyway good luck in watever you decide.

I don't really want anything on top of the temazepam to be honest as right now its only really helping for muscle spasms and general mood, which my doctor is aware of. I'd rather just nitrazepam on its own so I don't push tolerance further and just use it as directed especially since I am no longer illicitly using benzos with stimulants or opiates. I take 3 days on temazepam and then 2 or 3 days off to try to get the best out of them when I can. I've previously been prescribed zopiclone for quite a while before the temazepam and have used zaleplon ( which itself is quite enjoyable).

The problem I have had with doctors and family members is its seen as a little unusual for someone my age to have a detailed knowledge of such things, and my fear is if I ask my doctor for Mogadon which as brimz said is more of an old school medicine might throw up some red flags. Especially since benzos seem to be the last option for sleep ailments in the first place.

Hi All

Just really discovered teh world of benzo's, always knew of them but hadnt tried them, dread to think of teh number of times I have laid in bed after a stim sess lying awake for hours on end. My 'Dr' has a range available and I havent a clue as to the benefits or feel of any of them. Below are what I have available and just wondered if someone could advise on each please:

Diazepam (Zepose & M&A UK loose)
Alprazolam/Xanax (Pharmacia & Upjohn)
Lorazepam (Almus)
Nitrazepam (Almus)
Zopiclone (Teva)
Clonazepam (Auden Mckenzie)
Zolpidem/Ambien
Midazolam/Hypnoval (Roche)

I had the diaz and was great for putting me to sleep, just wondered on the others?

Many thanks for any advice on these

Zolpidem is without a doubt one of my favorite chemicals. Unfortunately I don't have a prescription, so I don't have it very often.
However, I absolutely love the vivid visual and auditory hallucinations from 10mg it gives me for about 20 minutes before I eventually fall into a deep, relaxing sleep.
Moving around in bed on Zolpidem is also a very euphoric experience, it just feels great.

Imo, Zolpidem can be a great dissociative. In its peak it reminds me of ketamine/MXE. I've had in-depth conversations between different voices in my head, all whilst everything in my room was moving around seemingly with a personality.
On many drugs this would likely cause me anxiety, but Zolpidem relaxes the hell out of you and absolutely nothing feels unnatural on it despite all the weirdness. I love that chemical and would be overjoyed if I could get a prescription. (Good luck trying that with UK doctors though).

I've given Pyeazplam and Cl-Diazepam a try recently.
I'm not entirely convinced with Pyazplam, I feel as though it's far too sedating with very weak anxiolytic effects. I don't know if it's the sort of chemical you can function on daily. It might be worth trying out as an alcohol replacement, however.

Cl-Diazepam was better, it felt clean and wasn't overpowering in any way, but I'm not convinced that it's an etizolam replacement (Keep in mind that it took me quite awhile to see the positives of Etizolam before I fell in love with it.)

As mentioned in another post, Pynazolam was great. Terrible if you want something to sedate you, but the anxiolytic effects were clear as day. I'm disappointed my sample ran out because it surprisingly made me a very motivated person with a very clear mind. I'd definitely use it in the future when I want to be more productive than Etizolam allows me to be.
