Ok, so last night I had a beer, and about 4 hours after I started to get really cold, chills, felt like i had the flu, my skin ached, I was randomly twitching all over the place. This has happened before and i never though much of it, except this time i realized that for the past 7 days or so I've either been on around 2mg lorazepam a day, or I've been having 3-6 drinks a day. To test my new theory I drank 2 drinks and my symptoms seemed to subside. I'm not sure if that was placebo or not, because all in all I felt shitty for about 12 hours, after which I was able to fall asleep. I woke up feeling fine today.

So in your opinion is it possible for minor benzo/alcohol withdrawal to be so short? Or was this something else?

It would seem to me that the acute withdrawal would last longer than you experienced.

I'm not sure of this though, so I'll let someone else chime in.

This could just be your body's reaction to the consant alcohol exposure (it is a rather toxic drug) combined with MAYBE some very minor benzo wd symptoms, but even that I doubt. It doesn't sound like any substantial wd's, more just like an after-effect or even a rebound effect.

For me there isn't enough background information to really answer your question.

Your drinking isn't high enough to be causing you a real problem as long as what you term as "a drink" is juts one beer or equivalent (for someone like Lemmy this would be a bottle of Jack!) and reading carefully you haven't taken the benzo everyday even for 7 days straight.

It's your normal routine thats missing for me, are you doing this kind of schedule all the time ?? or at least one or the other everyday.

Either way you really not in that deep I'd quit the benzos straight away given you are moving to daily use of drugs this is the most immediate area of danger. Don't drink everyday I'd advise at most every other day.

If you don't think you could manage the above then you need to seek medical advice now to deal with whatever it is thats making you need to use in that pattern, I gonna guess its stress or anxiety or the early stages of depression, at the moment the issues are small but you could move from that schedule, which is pretty harmless in the short term to a big problem really quickly with either or both substances.
