So, I'm prescribed 20mg instant release dexadrine twice daily, though my doses have usually been 17.5, and honestly, I know I need to stop using it almost completely because of certain side effects and will in a month when I have summer break from my job, but I know that right now I am certainly psychologically dependent and probably have some physical dependency, though most sites say that physical WD symptoms disapear within 5 days --2 weeks so that shouldn't be bad.
Anyways, I have been taking it daily and also drinking too much, and I got drunk wednesday night, then had to get up early for work on Thursday on only 3 hours of sleep and took a lot of dex thursday (I think the first dose was 22.5 and then 2--25mg doses) then was stupid and got drunk again and was on the dex late that night so my sleep was RAPED for days.
Yesterday I SHOULD have taken a day off (today as well), but i didn't, and when I took my first dose yesterday it made me feel HORRIBLE. I stupidly took a 2nd dose, and while it did not make me feel bad, for the first 2 of the 4 hours it lasts for me I FELT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...not bad, not good, just as if I hadn't taken it......the last 2 hours I felt some nervous stimulation and that was it and then felt VERY awake when it wore off.
Once again today I should NOT have taken it, but woke up feeling like shit (cause obviously my sleep was effected by the dex) so took it, and now I don't feel too great, not as bad as the first time I took it yesterday, but NOT as if I had taken it.....kind of tired, but mostly emotional and sort of upset.
I know these are side effects and I'm not taking anymore today after this wears off or tomorrow, but I have work Monday, and I have never worked this particular job without being on Dexadrine and because I think I am somewhat physically dependent I will probably feel bad if I DON'T take it, but I MIGHT feel bad if I do.
Why is this happening, and do you think it's possible if I take tomorrow off that a night of sleep that is unaffected by the Dex might allow it to work for me when I need it again on Monday??
Do you think this is a case of me just having too much sleep debt and need for quality sleep and so the Dexadrine will not work for some reason but will work again once I am properly rested?
Why else would it just STOP working?
Cause what happened to me yesterday (and to some extent today) has NEVER happened before, where I'd take it and feel either really bad the whole time, or NOT AT ALL the next dose.
Thanks
