So i've been taking Xanax and Alprazolam for about a week and a half now. Probably aorund 4-5 mg a day. I'm worried if i stop now i'll start getting withdrawal symptoms. But then again i'm thinking it hasnt been that long. Should i just stop now? I'm also on Suoxone if that helps.

you may experience some depression, anxiety, ect... but it won't be anything too serious

I abuse benzos (blackout doses) a couple days a week, usually the day or two after you can feel pretty crappy but thats it, but ymmv.

After 3 days I feel completely normal, but my benzo of abuse is very short acting.

If you are worried about it now, I would say best to get out now. The deeper you get in the tougher it becomes to get out. At those doses and time frame as others have said I think you are only looking at some slightly unpleasant mental symptoms, but nothing like the really nasty physical withdrawals you might have to go through if you keep going with it.

Okay so your worried you will develop dependency to xanax. Your not sure if you have reached that point yet though. To answer your question, "should I stop now?", obviously yes, you should. If you have not yet developed dependency stopping now will avoid all of that turmoil. If you have developed dependency, it is only going to get worse.

So is there really even a question? If your goal is to avoid withdrawals and your not sure where you are even at, why would continuing to use even be a viable option>?

The reason why he would continue to use would be to taper. If he has developed dependency, it's not like he only has 1 option: quit could turkey, or it'll get worse. His other option is to continue using, albeit while lowering his dose gradually.

No you are not addicted. It takes quite a while of regular high dose use to become physically dependent on a benzo. You might feel a bit of discomfort (a little bit of anxiety), but that's about it.
