So I have been on stimulants for probably a half a year or more.. I started with Vyvanse .. somehow 60mg in the beginning, then I didn't want Vyvanse and I preferred Adderall. So i was switched to Adderall (15mg) and over time the Adderall went to 30 mg a day, then tried XR (not enough) and went back to Vyvanse again so I could not have to worry about a mid-day crash or anything... and I was prescribed 60mg again (and in the beginning I took only half of the 60mg I was prescribed cause 60 was.. A LOT) and the 60mg this time was not enough... So I went back to 35mg IR and I've been doing fine with this.. but I am not interested in keeping my energy from amphetamines and relying mainly on that... What can I do ?

It is hard to really obtain normal energy and natural energy as other things don't quite equate to Amphetamine . I have been trying to take less each day, but it is hard since I am soooo tired and lethargic if I don't take a certain amount in the morning.. then with that dose I can't take the same amount later because that would be more than I am prescribed a day (and I don't want to take that much) so I end up essentially crashing mid/laterish-day even if I take more.

Ive been drinking much less coffee each day than I was, I drink "Amino Energy" only once a day and not a lot.. as opposed to having it in the morning, with adderall and coffee, and every few hours. I have been trying to eat in the morning more, but that's hard since I am not that hungry or can eat much with stimulants.

It is hard to really have the energy to do a lot of things since I run out half way through the day (that's when I want to do the most, but don't have the energy and motivation to do so) . I remember back when I was in High School and slightly after that when I was fine all day, barely drank coffee, had energy and motivation to do things all day.. even though I was high all day, every day, from waking up to bed. I want to be like that again (not the smoking part). I want to be the way most of my friends are and have natural energy, focus, motivation through out the day , and not only part the day as I currently am .

What can I do , how can I do it ? Would love replies from people who were in my situation before or take stimulants !

why are you prescribes the stimulants? are they necessary for mental acuity adhd add etc?

i think you should try to get totally clean off all drugs, additives, 'pick-me-ups' for at least a month, kind of like a detox and then see how you feel. work on your physical fitness, get to running, biking, swimming, whatever, get some daily strenuous exercise and build your natural endurance/fitness. one day at a time.

instead of the amino energy or caffeine eat better. healthy, fresh, balanced.

i find i get a similar feeling as you have described when im drink too much coffee/caffeine.

good luck!

Your adrenals are probably burned out to such an extent that without stims you can't have a normal level of metabolic activity.

You can try herbal based adrenal supplements to restore your adrenals over time, without depleting them. The key to this kind of therapy is that you don't over-extend your body. The two things that restore your adrenals are calm rest, and nutrition. If you take adrenal supplements but then use that extra energy to do a million tasks, your adrenals will just get worse.

I took a good formula recently called "Ortho-Adapt" by AOR, seems balanced. I wouldn't recommend the dosage on the bottle if you're sensitive. I cut it in half and just took one dose each morning while I was on vacation. I had great wakefulness but life was chill so it replenished me.

Bottom line... those drugs you're on are making you dependent on them for normal alertness. Eventually they won't be able to help you maintain baseline without taking even more. It's a dead end, so consider cutting back or stopping.

Walk about 6 times a week fir an hour. Youll feel good and its good for you. You'll see.

Clean eating helps. Getting plenty of sleep. Seriously, if you are experiencing excessive daytime sleepiness, try to sleep longer hours, and get a better sleep schedule. Work to improve your sleep hygiene, such as removing noises, lights, and unnecessary electronics that might interfere with your deeply you sleep. I recommend taking melatonin and/or valerian root if you have trouble getting to sleep. Try to get fitness back into your routine. A little goes a long way, especially if you're out of shape. One thing that is working for me is taking a hefty B vitamin. Garden of Life's Raw B complex is wonderful. I recently started taking it, around the time I started taking my 10mg adderall, and I can tell a big difference. I've taken the adderall on days without the B vitamins and I notice a difference in energy and brain fog. I have pretty bad adhd and fibromyalgia, so I am frequently struggling with energy deficiencies and distractibility. Stop drinking energy drinks and coffee if you're on the adderall. You'll fry your adrenals more than the adderall probably already does.
