Okay, First it started with klonopin. I went IP for my OCD and got hooked up by another person that threw me two 1mg over the fence...... Loved it. My anxiety just drifted away by this massive feeling of euphoria. Then I get out and the MD I was seeing at the time prescribed valium 5 mg twice daily with one refill. as you can imagne I went thru both in a month. Benzo by 08 09 10 still gave me euphoria as the reason I was using was cause I was under alot of stress. So I started to take klonopin .5 twice daily. The 1 mg three times daily. Then klonopin seemed to burn out so I switched to xanax. This was in 2012. 1 mg four times a day. To the point I was forgetting everything. Then I agreed to go back of the klonopin back last september. .5 twice a day. It worked and now I am on 1mg once a day. So is my tolerance just to the point to where it doesn't matter what benzo I use. I'm going to be tolerent to it. I mean I loved that melting feeling I got with klonopin at first but I no longer get that. I no I have zero anxiety due to the constant flow of klonopin but man, I guess it's just run it's coarse and I would rather be comfertable then with no what so ever.

I mean tolerance is the issue right?

Yeah, tolerance is the issue, but increasing your dosage is not the solution. It's a temporary solution to a permanent problem, when there's a permanent solution right under your nose; consider a taper, and talk therapy to get to the root of your anxieties. Benzos just bandage the problem up, you're supposed to heal the wound and take the bandage off after.

I think that's debatable Venrak

The anxiolytic effect will last, mostly. Expect the euphoria to diminish to next to nothing, if that. That's just how benzos work.

If you want a buzz look somewhere else - some people keep taking more and more benzos until they need 10mg clonazepam or more just to feel kind of ok, not anxiety-free, but barely functional; they suffer terrible amnesia and cognitive defects. Don't want to end up like that, do you?

Taper down before it gets any worse. My anxiety gets nearly debilitating at times, but Id rather deal with a little anxiety throughout the day than kick benzos again. Being dependent on benzo to live normally sucks balls. Im never playing with benzo addiction again.

Also, after kicking, I can "chip" benzos from time to time and get absolutely ripped. Imagine taking 0.5 alprazolam (Xanax) and getting a super warm melty feeling all over your body for 5 hours. I can do that now. I just only do it when I stumble upon it, versus seeking it out. Benzos are magical this way. Also a 2 mg bar is fucking heaven...

How was going from 4mg of Xanax a day to 1mg of klonopin a day for you in terms of discomfort and/or withdrawals?

I've been prescribed benzos since 2005, maxing out a 3mg of Xanax a day, but now take either 5 or 7.5mg of Valium once daily. I can definitely feel 1mg of Xanax, or 15mg of temazepam (30mg knocks me out the first few times I take them when I get a few here and there) and as long as I use them sparingly [less than once a week] I feel the full effects from them.

I've been on benzos since 2004 and I can' tell the difference between 2mg of clonazepam and 5mg of Valium Both just take the edge off my day. Xanax are great but same strength mg-mg with clonazepam, I'd rather th 25 hr half life to the 8 you get from Xanax and I feel it wearing off. ath one stage I was on 12mg of Xanax a day 3 times 2. That explains the tolerance issues I have anyway. Valium seem to be what the docs consider a safer benzo so if that is alevaiating some anxiety stick with it and save your clonaz for when you want a chill day or need it for coming down

^ yea, not to get into comparing benzos too much, but I like Valium over Xanax since you don't have to worry much about dosing each day on Valium compared to Xanax. When I was on Xanax I couldn't even make it 24 hours without a dose, but with Valium I can easily make it 24 hours, and sometimes 48 hrs is easy especially if I took my full prescribed dose of 10mg the last day.

Okay about the xanax.....I was on them that dose for a year. Went IP because I was using too much DXM and they detoxed me for five days....One of the worst experiences I have ever had....Okay I saw my doc and he suggested that we stay off the xanax so I went back to .5 klonopin and after that detox I really didn't seem to find a difference other then the klonopin lasted longer....I will never touch xanax in as much as I did going a full year at one mg four times a day....I'm kinda scared of xanax......So the transition wasn't very hard.

Stay on klonopin. Xanax is the crack of benzos, dosing every 4-5 hours to keep withdrawals away is not fun.
But to get fucked up for parties and stuff, xanax is the go to benzo.
