Opioids been off methadone 60mg for 3 days, want to take bupe

I am on 60mg methadone daily though the last few days a problem has arisen(long story) and I havent been able to get my doses for three days. My last dose was about 3pm thursday and its 4:30 sunday.

I can get 8mg suboxones and im wondering if its worth it to try that to get me through until tomorrow arvo....would I get sick? Im in WD's and its obviously not nice but its not the worst ive ever felt, not by a long shot.

Anyway any help would be appreciated. The Wd's while not excruciating are still affecting my life and my ability to function. It sucks.

Would a large amount of codeine like 400-500mg help at all? I could do a CWE.

I would stay away from suboxone if your coming off methadone. Do the codeine see if that helps, or get some other opioid.

try to get your hands on more short acting opioids, like codeine and tramadol, to ease up the methadone wd's because of its long half-life. Maybe on the day 5 you could try switching to buprenorphine.

If you do decide on the bupe, you'd better taper down to 30mg of methadone and then switch after AT LEAST 72 hours.

Stay away from the Suboxone. If you only have to wait until tomorrow to get your methadone dose(s) back, just stick it out until then if you possibly can...

Yeah, I am assuming you have been on MMT for sometime now. If that's the case, the suboxone will more then likely throw you into precip w/d, and 8mg might not even be enough to hold you coming from 60m of methadone. Buy some OTC meds and tough it out until you can get your MMT dose(s).
