Just thought I'd drop in and maybe contribute a bit, learn a bit. Just an old guy,
quit smoking, drinking for quite a few years. Started smoking again about a year ago, the bad ones as well. I've been on that other forum and just got sick of all the sarcasm and nasty punk kids. There's some pretty good folks there as well. Live in the reddest state, unfortunately. Have lived in San Fran, Florida, New York, Hawaii, the most recently and longest. Was actually a wino on the street in SF.
If anyone remembers I was the guy often in front of that store on 9th and Mission
in the morning, or later on the afternoon the one on I believe it was 8th and Market from like 1981 to 85. Long dark hair. I always said thanks anyway. Lots of folks came back and gave a bit. Panhandled quite a bit around Church and Market in the evenings. I actually kind of liked the life, except for the terrible hangovers. Lived on the Big Island for about 6 years after. Kind of the town drunk. Anyone remember me, I lived bout a third way makai of Gardenia St. on Pikake street in Fern Acres, also just off Livingston st. on Hawaii St. in the Ihope area. You'd see me often hitchhiking in and out, usually hungover going out, pretty lit coming back from Sako store.
Had to leave in 92. Had a bunch of money when I left and kind of was forced to quit drinking after getting back to Idaho, where I grew up. Don't like it here but am stuck. Eventually quit the booze willingly and thankfully.
Anyone remembers me drop me a line. Don't want to use my real name here.
God Bless
