I love MDMA and would love to do it again but I don't know if I should. I have generalized anxiety and the last time I rolled I had a pretty horrible experience.

The last time I rolled (2010) I had a severe scare on the come up. Took 110mg of tested MDMA crystal and had some kind of panic attack/over sensitivity where I felt like I needed medical help and my heart was going crazy and body temp was real high. Thinking back, it was probably psychological. I have developed quite strong anxiety over the past few years and on/off depression. The thing is back in 2008 when I used to roll alot I didn't have any problems.

I have made progress in terms of my anxiety and am seeing a therapist. I am toying with the idea of trying MDMA again albeit at small doses (~60mg starting) while in Amsterdam for 4 days.

- Is a small dose like that guaranteed to be physically safe?
- Will I experience the "tuesday blues" if I haven't done MDMA in so long?
- Does the MDMA at such a small done have potential to reverse my progress against my anxiety?

I know these questions differ from person to person, and there is no sure answer but I was hoping for some advice from people who might share the same problems as I and who have experience with MDMA.

Thanks

I've had pretty intense come-ups where I panicked for a few minutes, but it passed pretty quickly. If you were using often previously, there is a good chance your anxiety and depression issues stem from going overboard with MDMA. It doesn't seem uncommon for people who use heavily to have problems only begin to surface weeks or months after their last use. If your depression and anxiety didn't set in until after your MDMA use, I'd say stay away from the MDMA for awhile longer.

If what you have is MDMA, 60mg is a plenty safe dose...but it sounds like you plan on re-dosing over the course of 4 days and that's just asking for trouble. Repeated re-dosing is probably the quickest way to ensure negative effects. Some people get Tuesday blues, some just don't. It is definitely more likely if you have a history of depression or use several days/doses without proper spacing(30 days absolute minimum, more is better).

Basically:
-Yes.
-Since you have a history of depression, it's pretty likely. Don't take this as encouragement to do it, but I have a long history of depression prior to drug use, and that history makes Tuesday blues laughable(to a certain extent, I always space my rolls 2+ months apart.). This might not be the case if your depression/anxiety problems were due to drug use.
-Potential? Yes. Will it happen? No one can really say for sure...but I'd be prepared for it if I were you. Especially if you plan on using several days in a row, or re-dosing several times.

I dont think its going to give you the feeling of ''rolling'' But it should be physically safe. You should take atleast 80mg to feel it working more. I think i read the minimal effective dose is 1.2 mg KG and max 2mg KG

Hey thanks for the reply bro. Nah my anxiety has been around years before doing any drug, but it has intensified over the last 2 years possibly because of frequent use back in 2008 and other factors such as a family tragedy and huge stress.

do you drink or smoke weed or use any other substances regularly or sometimes?

Yeah I do- ill take a few hits once every few weeks of some weak hash and ill drink once every weekend or 2 depending on whats going on. I wasn't smoking any weed around hte time I last rolled though.

I'd say you'll be ok, but it is always important to use caution with drugs when you suffer from mental problems. Anxiety and depression can be EXTREMELY debilitating, and it would be unfortunate to erase any progress you've made. My primary suggestion would be to re-consider your dosing. You're better off with two 100mg doses, than 4 50mg doses. Just as an example. It is believed that some of the neurotoxicity is caused by oxidized dopamine entering the serotonin receptor once you are low on serotonin. After 2(arbitrary number plug) average sized doses, you are going to be pretty low on serotonin, but still have plenty of dopamine that could end up in the serotonin receptor. So you take your third dose, don't really have any extra serotonin to release, but MDMA also releases dopamine, which then enters the receptor. This is off the top of my head, someone can clarify/correct me if I'm mistaken. This isn't a proven theory(to my knowledge), and it is unlikely that this is the ONLY mechanism through which neurotoxicity occurs, but as I said before, repeated dosing is the first step towards negative effects.
