(I'm trying something new with this...any feedback is much appreciated, tell me if anyone wants to read more)
Cypra Francis sat back on the train with the rain making aggressive little staccato thumps on the other side of the window. Impact converted to vibration and pushed through the glass like it was thick soup until it found a way inside her head where it turned into sound and was processed.
Her eyes were looking at nothing in particular. Her brain a pendulum swinging between introspection and abject boredom, and somewhere in between, the dizzy pit of her dreaming.
She knew why she was coming to the bleakest suburbs of Melbourne she could imagine, she was following her dreams. Not the kind of dreams with gingham and roast Sunday lunch and a husband who never mowed the lawn...these were the kind of dreams that nagged at her while she was awake and made her remember, the kind of dreams that made her follow them so she could fool herself that she was holding on to her sanity.
Sanity.
She smiled wryly at that particular idea, and eased her way back to the rest of the world just in time for the train to pull into Middle Footscray station. Cypra sighed and left the train like a ghost girl in black, and her cigarette was lit before the doors had closed behind her.
It was time to find the Black Rainbow.
