Because of you I can't be me

was i once someone i did not know

am i a life

a shadow

a pain

a heartbreak

a knife

a person

threatening another

someone else

or something else

am i something

that just passes by

through life

death

destiny

fate

and future

am i a question

still waiting to be answered

from a lie

a truth

a feeling

or a confession

am i a sound

that’s not wanted to be heard

or a song

waiting to heal a soul

am i a soul

that cannot be healed

by voice

of comfort

or of love

is there love

for me

myself

and you

are you the world

that controls

fight

then dies

when i could be the world

that shares

happiness

and live

forever

why should you control me

when i can control myself

if i was i

then i wouldn’t just be a life
