BDD Social/Information Booth v15 - It's almost New Years 2012...

^Honestly I would have suggested community service, extra fines, driving classes, etc.

Sounds like something your lawyer would be able to help you out with more than a bunch of BDDers ;)

I want to throw them something that they may not have thought about or maybe was used in another case or something like that. I am pretty much willing to do anything. I mean, hell, I will stand on a wide median where I sped and hold a sign that says "dont speed" or something else. Whatever anyone can think of basically.

I do truly appreciate any ideas that can be offered, and BDD'rs are clever folk ;)

I'd be worried that some judges would take a thrown-from-left-field (pardon the expression) as an insult and would throw the book at you. Maybe you're used to different judges (where in the U.S. do you live again?)

I'll allow the topic to continue though, I'm gunna be more or less at this computer (currently watching a movie on another computer) for the next two hours or so, I'll keep an eye on this thread ;)

Thank you NT :D

I live in the Chicago area *don't get more specific ;)*. I will be presenting any ideas I receive or actually think up on my own to my lawyer first and see what he says. Its really "an all or nothing" sort of thing.

My next trial date is in February so I got time, but just trying to get something going.

Ahh, okay. How is your relationship with your lawyer? Meaning, is this the first time he's worked for you or is he a family-owned lawyer, or somebody else that you're more familiar with?

Legal advice is best left to legal professionals... but just out of curiousity is this traffic related or something else? A traffic related misdemeanor usually isn't going to hold you back from much except like driving a bus or hazmat truck perhaps...

First time dealing with him. I spoke to 2 lawyers and the second lawyer wanted alot of money to rep me where as the other lawyer gets paid with the bond money I put up in jail and he used to be a states attorney.

It was trafic related. The reason I want to get rid of this is of course I don't want anything on my record and secondly, last night I was offered a job to drive a tanker truck and make around 1700-2000$/week. Thats money I could use, but I couldn't get a CDL if I have this on my record. Also my license could be suspended :\

Yeah I figured it would be something related to CDLs, sounds like Illinois is just as tough on that shit as Virginia is (I almost went and took a CDL class not to long ago) but they're serious. I guess they have to be.

I wish I could think of something man

Id say take the job... then when you go to court you can plead for it to be taken care of in an alternaate matter and have a goood reason for them to oblige... perhaps the judge willtake into consideration that its not just a violation on your record, and that it will cost you your job...

Do you have a commercial license now? Or would you have to attain one to take this job?

I am doing alot of googling myself. Dont think on it too hard, just, if you could please, keep it in the back of your heads and if you think of something then PLEASE tell me, this is truly appreciated, you really have no idea!

No CDL yet. Was going to get one though after I heard that offer. The guy was like "I need someone I can trust and blah bah blah..." I talk to him alot and we are friendly on a personal level. He said I am exactly who he needs and he will train me and all that. He has his own truck and its nice and new. I want that job. So, I desperately need to fight this. I really need that $$$

Make sure you run any ideas past your attorney beforehand ;)

Of course :) Mentioned earlier that I would be doing that. No way I am going into the court room in free fire mode throwing words and ideas at the judge that may hurt me. I will let my attorney do my talking. Unless he says something I dont like....

And to stay on topic of this thread and in the great and mighty words of Lou:
"drughs."

Thanks alot guys, just let me know if you think of something please :D

Well if your court date isn't till feb then go get the license and start working... then when you go back to court you will have the job... that way he will actually be taking away your job if he doesn't work with you... again check with the attorney, cuz every case is different, but that's what I've seen work before...

sad day...the vendor I was going to use for 2c-i/e is shutting down and doing a liquidation sale so they're not selling small amounts of it...only 1g and 5gs for a decent chunk of change...guess I'll never get to try either one...oh well, I heard the make you hurt during and after, and I already got enough pain as it is...I guess MXE it will be...
