During the 1950s and 1960s, the U.S. Govt. experimented with drugs on its own citizens during Project MKULTRA (kind of sounds a bit delicious). They mostly experimented with LSD but another avenue they played with was using barbituates and amphetamines together. They would inject an individual with barbituates until the subject began to fall asleep at which point they would inject them with amphetamines. This would result in the subjects babbling incoherently but sometimes the scientists were able to ask the subjects questions and get useful information from them.
While most CIA records about the experiments were destroyed, it is thought that there were several deaths resulting from their experiments. The project was terminated in the late '60s when lawsuits were made against the CIA due to concerns about the govt. not giving the test subjects proper consent about the experiments.

It's midnight here, but I just woke up
(what's really odd is how I went to bed at like 2 am this morning, so that's 22 hours sleep).I'm alright...wondering how I got an infraction though. I mean the reason is stated, but I is still confused by it. Other than that, I'm fine and hoping the seroquel I took will level me pretty soon as I need to get this sleeping schedule sorted out. My wife worked for 7 years at a major womens underwear manufacturer so, purely in the interests of taking an interest in her work I had to review all the latest ranges.
So please feel free to post a range of your favorites, I'm used to demeaning myself to review such things but really need a much wider range of styles to make much of a judgement

They absolutely can, especially the restlessness and the anxiety and if the stimulant in question lowers the seizure threshold then you could be putting yourself at higher risk of seizing. Alcohol withdrawal also sends your heart rate and blood pressure through the roof which stimulants would exacerbate. I can't think of many worse things than taking stims in alcohol withdrawal!
After you pass the serious acute stage, stimulants may be beneficial for the lethargy, cognitive difficulties, etc. however in general, it's best to avoid the ups and downs that stimulants produce because it could exacerbate and/or prolong the PAWS symptoms.
