It is rather nice isn't it though. I think i'm enjoying having it there more so than using it haha.
Good to hear, I'm soaking up some fine spring sun. The day has turned out mighty fine I must say.
Yeah, well about rehab... I entered the program, wherein you do a 10 day detox before you go into the rehab program. I was deemed "unfit" for rehab and was shuffled into the general psych. However it was my first really successful visit. I'm loving life and for the first time in a long while actually happy. I ended up fully detoxing off all psychiatric medication as well as quite heavy substance abuse. I think the greatest thing to come out of it was managing to successfully taper off a huge benzo dependency. 12mg alprazolam, 120mg diazepam and 2mg flunitrazepam daily. Also dumped the quetiapine, escitalopram and sodium valproate.
For the first time in years my brain is functioning free of any substance dependence, be it psychiatric or narcotic. My life has taken a turn for the better. I moved home with the mother after a messy ending with my lady friend that I was living with and I think I'm in a much better place.
I got reinstated at my old workplace that I worked at in 2009 with a substantial raise, ah man, it's just all going good. I'm also volunteering at a needle syringe program and heading into university next year when I'll do an undergraduate of Biotechnology and medical research. The plan is to then do a graduate degree of pharmacology and hopefully one day run an opiate maintenance program.
It's probably a bit of a kite dream, but eh, I just want to work in harm reduction and help others.
It's funny how things can dramatically change in a few months.
