Young Vader lived in NZ for a year, he's got a kiwi gf and she's living in Perth atm, so he's gone over to be with her. Do you get cassowaries in your area? They're fucking awesome. And is Nimbin anywhere close? When I get to Oz (which I'll have to at some point, even though it's def too hot for me), I'm going to have to check it out, sounds like my kind of place. Probably more so than your kind of place, but still...
And yeah, oxide, the point of a group hug is that people get involved!

Unfortunately indeed cane, thinking about America makes me realise how amazing Europe is. I can get on a plane for an hour and be in any one of several countries, each with its own rich language and culture. You should do a tour sometime, what better way to celebrate getting rid of the cane than to hike?

I considered a name change but then I remembered that people who change their names here are fucking idiots ;) It's my identity here and a reminder of the progress I've made so at least for now, it stays.

I would absolutely love to tour Europe and can't wait until I'm in a position where that's possible. One of the reasons I'm moving to Portland soon is because of how, unlike most big cities in America, it emulates the ethos pervasive in Europe. It has some of the most developed public transportation (which is free in much of the downtown in "fareless square"); marijuana possession isn't even a crime up to an ounce but just a minor violation you are fined/ticketed for; it's ranked the greenest city in the US (if not the world); it's filled with local breweries and coffee shops; there are developed art and music scenes, etc. As a result of all of this, it's seen as a sort of nirvana for young, educated liberals who are moving there in flocks.

Where I'll be living, I'll be about a mile away from a huge park with 40 miles of hiking trails despite being no more than 2-3 miles from anywhere in the city.

You should come visit Portland sometime :)
 
Yeah, I'd love to visit America some time, and Portland would be on the itinerary. I love psychedelics, weed and nature, so I think I'd fit in. I'm also a cyclist, and IIRC Portland is great for velocipede enthusiasts, right?

pdx is rad, man. The cycling culture is great there... if you can stand everyone on a fixie w/o brakes.

It is definitely a rad place to move if you have an in-demand profession and can get work. Otherwise, I doubt they need another white, liberal, drug-addled male with dreadlocks. Oh wait, we're not talking about me. You'll do fine.

just go through really, really bad opiate withdrawals and you can barely help to randomly jizz your pants.

in other news after a 2-day "taper" with suboxone, and a day off it, I feel great. That was surprisingly fast and painless.
Maybe i'm not as big of a junkie as I thought - I had a sneaking suspicion I split my Rx in half or 1/3ds and then lost a bottle, and this sorta confirms that. I also have a terrible habit of hiding little stashes of like 5-10 pills all over my apartment when I'm really fucked up and then finding them later (or more frequently not finding them). Either that, or my girlfriend is fucking with me.
