While I'm letting Cane take this one, I'm just reminding anyone who reads this that Noam Chomsky "is a father of modern linguistics" (I can provide several sources for this one) whether I agree with him or not. He seems famous elsewhere for just his political views, so I like reminding people he's still a LINGUIST.

Just needed to satisfy the Linguist part of my personality...

look-i am new to the whole Mod thing,so I don't think I will put in an app. However,p_c gave me some great advice on how to multitask and in what order. My main concern is learning(getting he balls) to report posts. also- I am almost 35-I am not a child of the web generation,nor did I have the info at my finger tips that alot of you have. I would be willing to help out in BDD for the sake of Bl and to increase my basic knowledge of drugs. so I volunteer to help you guys in return for the information I was denied when i started using-which sadly enough was 12. so .........twat do you say. can I lurk about and then whip out my mod stick or does it not work that way? i'm just bed ridden and the harder I work the better I will become. so ....someone let me know.

Skillz, your help is always appreciated! I'm not a BDD mod but I always look around in there and report posts when I can, because the forum is super busy! Don't feel weird about reporting posts...and this goes to ALL members reading this...it helps us mods out a LOT if you report things, so please don't hesitate, in ANY forum!! It's very very appreciated when members post great advice, report things, and help direct the members to the rules. Plus, if you're interested in becoming a mod one day --- all of that stuff looks very good, since we don't give out modsticks for free, they are earned.
 
I used to report a lot of spam and so on, but as I got a warning for something else, I don't report posts anymore. Ha, human nature...

Don't stop reporting posts! Please report any spam or any other troublesome posts you see! And, a warning isn't a big deal, it's a way for staff to keep record of any issues and let the member know something they did was out of line, and warnings are not meant to discourage anyone. Even the best posters can make mistakes sometimes, and I'm sure even a mod or two has a very old warning or infraction sitting around....it's BL, a lot of us get high and post on here, mistakes and stupidity are going to happen.
 
Yeah I had two warnings and an infraction before joining staff. Loulou Reed if you think you can successfully argue away your warning and present a good case for being made mod your application would be judged with all aspects taken into account.
 
Hi everyone, I wanted to see what's going on here. I'm only posting, bc amapola's tenets really made me laugh out loud :D, and to ask Mugz: if somebody's app includes a video (v. pics) would you take that as a bribe?
 
Well thanks amapola (and hznc), but I think my English isn't good enough to be able to use the Modstick to its full extent.
