BBC - Cannabis 'no worse than eating junk food', says report

I don't think its very dangerous if used with respect, but I think its more so than junk food. Its not like eating junk food can result in something so painful as psychosis. I agree that this is debatable.

The report has been misquoted. The BBC are very sloppy in the way they report drug related stories.

Any logical person knows that illegal drugs arent nearly as dangerous as they are made out to be. The problem is that people think you are "sending the wrong message" if you say illegal drugs are not bad.

Obesity is a HUGE problem in alot of places, junk food is so accessible and convenient for alot of people. I'm glad I never touch any really. I havent in many yrs now.

I'd prefer to eat cannabis than junk food personally.

Fuck that bullshit!
Junk food is WAY more dangerous than cannabis.
Hundreds of thousands of people die a year from heart disease, strokes, and various cancers, and some significant portion of this is due to highly processed, nutrient-sparse, junk food.

Of course, it is bad to overdo either cannabis or junk food, and some people should not use one or the other (someone with latent tendencies toward psychosis in the case of cannabis, someone with one of many medical problems such as narrowing of the arteries etc. with junk food).

Moderation is key.

So, which would hurt more - using cannabis once a day or eating McDonald's once a day?
I would put my money on the McDonald's. All of my money.

What about using cannabis 3x a day or eating junk food 3x a day?
Have you read Fast Food Nation, or seen Supersize Me? The answer is clear.

What about once a week? Probably neither one would hurt much at all.

Winner: cannabis!

Edit: the article talks about smoking cannabis. If one were to vaporize or eat it instead, it would be even less harmful.

the main danger with daily cannabis consumption is a well known condition called being boring
as use of cannabis rarely leads to anything more exciting than watching tv shows/movies

What about alcohol? How many people have smoked too much passed out on their back aspirated then found dead with lungs full of vomit? So yea junk food bad canabis? You can get it legally in California

Personally, I'm a frequent smoker (used to be a daily smoker, but I've cut back a bit) and I'm an overeater (sounds nicer than fat haha) and I'll say junk food seems to have impacted my health more, and I think its harder for me to resist. Of course, anecdotal evidence isn't worth shit really, but just saying.
