I agree on Scarecrow. while I thought Cillian Murphy is doing a fantastic job on him in the Nolan movies, I would have loved to see him in the full-Scarecrow get-up. but I heard Nolan didn't do this because it's not like Scarecrow is a physically scary man, he uses the human psyche to his advantage, and he didn't want the villain to come off as too cartoonish

MP: while I don't regularly play video games I still play them a bit and know about them, culturally speaking, that is. the new Batman games look amaze-balls. I love how it appears as though you have to sneak around enemies and use the shadows/intimidation to your advantage - just like Batman does

fwiw - when it's all said and done Scarecrow should be the only Batman villain to be in all three of Nolan's Batman films!
 
Ra's-al-Ghul and his daughter-who-is-obsessed-with-Batman, Talia-al-Ghul are both confirmed to appear in the Dark Knight Rises

The best part for me were all the villain cameos in it. (Bane, Joker, Freeze, Scarecrow, Talia al Ghul, Poison Ivy, Calendar Man, Zsasz, I could go on) I didn't read the comics but I remember seeing them all in the animated Batman series growing up so there was some nostalgia when playing this game. That was such a great show (although not as good as the Spiderman one, imo).

yeah, and I really liked Zzasz's cameo appearance in the first Batman film, as well as Scarecrow's drug kingpin appearance in the second Batman film

damn, we had so many great animated shows back in our day. however, I'm an X-Men guy through and through. all kids can relate to being outcasts; like how the mutants were treated by the humans, and how the X-Men were even treated, at times, by other heroes

so I will say #1 is X-Men and #2 is a tie between Spider-Man/Batman

the X-Men are my fave super team, and I will say Spidey is my fave singular hero. Peter Parker is so lovable and realistic in his constant misfortunes. I mean he's a superhero who still has to go to work, and school, pay rent - all the while dealing with his girlfriend getting thrown off a bridge. give me him over the-all-powerful-all-beautiful-Clark Kent any day. and I also love how Spidey constantly feeds his villains one-liners. it's almost like he gets rid of more pent up anger via trash-talk, than actual fisticuffs - the fact that the new Spidey movie seems to up-play this part of Spidey makes me think it will be a winner!

I'm worried. I loved Batman Begins, was kinda ok with The Dark Knight, aside from the Joker it was just good. His other films are classics though, aside from Batman 2. So I'm iffy on it. And Prometheus was one of the best films in years.
 
they are both great, great films. the only really direct comparison is ms jellyhole>>>katie holmes
 
I would say that the first Batman was good, but not great. for some reason the film just didn't resonate with me as much as Nolan's second, the Dark Knight. I will say that Batman 1 was a better-than-average origins story, but Ra's al Ghul's kewl factor was only "ehh" (and let's be honest, Batman's villain's "kewl factor" matters HEAPS when factoring in the entire movie). add to the fact that Scarecrow was kind of unassuming and not very intimidating, despite a solid performance given by the actor...

although Bats 1 gets kudos for having Carmine Falcone (!) and Victor Zsasz (!!!) in it, I more than suspect my aforementioned "kudos" gets cancelled out by affirming L2R's true declaration that Maggie Gyllenhaal > Katie Holmes, as Rachel Dawes, by fucking FAR

but as far as the main villains go - Ra's al Ghul + a neutered Scarecrow simply cannot overcome the intoxicating one-two punch of the Joker + Two-Face

but to be more on topic, here is a newly published high-res photo of Nolan's BANE in action!

looks pretty legit! I hope I can understand Bane's annunciation well ;) and it appears as though, from the trailer, that Bane is going to eff up the Bats hard-core and send him into an early retirement. thus, Gotham morphs into a bloody + chaotic gangland, and the Military has to bomb all of Gotham's entrance/exit points (the city's bridges), to keep it neutralized. I'm ok with this, I think Nolan is going to shine with this story!
 
i think the relative softness of the villains in bb serve the story perfectly. they are his first foes, and he's only just starting the fill them boots and be tested. the story amazingly creates a real environment for the start of our beloved bats, and also sets the tone for the city full of nutty criminals we are so familiar with. i think i saw it in the cinema two or three times, the last of which was on a hefty dose of lucy. the scene showing the toxin being pumped into the water supply made me leave the theatre in unease. think about what that imagery and ideas were meaning in my head/state.

This trilogy has been a very insightful look into human psyche more than anything else. All hail Heath Ledger.
 
neither can i. will probably catch a stadard screen session while waiting the obligatory two weeks for my imax vouchers to start working.
 
the first screening, to about 60 critics, took place today. although they can't post their reviews for another 10 or so days, some tweeted about it. garth, of darkhorizons, reviewed the tweets as: "The new Batman film heals the sick, stops wars and will end famine as we know it."

i can't say i'm not hyped, being my most anticipated movie for this year. and i just tripled my bluray collection by buying the first two nolan batman films. i now have three blurays.
