Bath Salts: IMO the media has blown it totally out of control. Speaking from experience here. I used it every day for three months. (This was before there was ANY research on it. I couldn't even find out what was in it.) During those three months, I lost 30lbs, my house had never been cleaner, my hubby was happier then ever, I was constantly doing something that didn't involve sitting on my ass for hours on end, and I kicked a$80 a day addiction to hydrocodone. I thought I had found the WONDER drug!
Like everything, there was good, and there was bad.
The good:
Weight loss
extreme energy
kicked a problematic addiction
required very little sleep
house was spotless
spent more time with my family, having fun.
felt like a million dollars
worked out every day, had never worked out before!
had AMAZING sex, EVERY DAY....was used to it once or twice a week
was always happy, nothing pissed me off.
The Bad:
A few times I was unable to sleep at all, but I was never up for more than 48 hours, and never once had a delusion
Within 2 weeks, I was completely addicted. AND it was the most powerful addiction I have ever had, especially that quick
I would zone out after not being able to sleep for one night, and a few times I lost about 3 hours. It happened to me while playing online....Wikipedia was my new best friend...but I couldn't tell you what I was reading, or what happened those hours.
I developed Nasal Septum Perforation. It started as a small wound in my nose, the came the pus, then came a hole. I now have a permenant hole between both nostrils. You can't see it looking at me, but if I turn my head, and flair my nostrils, and tilt it up, you can see a hole the size of a double A battery. I now have to be super careful to not get hit, or put too much pressure on my nose, because I could develop "saddle nose"-my nose could collapse. You can see a picture of the wound before it became a hole under "cloud nine nose sore" I was so scared when it first started, I asked on here, and no one had an answer...but they convinced me to post a pic...gross!
All in All, the media has caused everyone to flip the fuck out! I know quite a few that did it, and never had a problem. The people that called poison control, ended up in the ER, or ultimately died.....WERE IGNORANT. Yes there should be regulations on it....gotta be 18 to buy it, and it should be said that it CAN CAUSE problems, but broadcasting suicide bc of it is going a little far! If it hadn't of been banned in Louisiana, I would probably still do it recreationally. That is if I hadn't of blown a hole in my nose! I now know to RINSE my nose post sniff....My mistake.
This should be treated like the "spice" still on the shelves.
Did they ban Chantix when it caused Jane Doe to shoot her hubby for bitching at her? Did they ban Welbutrin when a 16 year old slit her wrists? Did the ban Adderal when a 14 year old shot his dad? NOPE they put a warning label on it!
