Bath Salts are no joke

Well I have seen bath salt threads and such, but none super recent or anything and there are some new kinds and such. Anyway I saw these on the news, I am not a stimulant guy at all, but nothing is easier than going to the smoke shop and getting it legally. I am amazed at how little it takes to absolutely send you spinning, it's freaking nuts. I am glad I like pace myself because I hardly did any and I will never underestimate it again. Anyway this is not a trip report though, what effects have you guys experienced? I have seen a couple people claim it didn't do too much, and I must say you must have not had a good kind, or maybe it had something different? Because well this is not a "minor" high, not by far. I am looking for the effects people have felt, and specifically people who have tried different kinds, like if there was a big difference, if there is different stuff in them?

My effects included the following: Euphoria, extreme energy (I felt like cleaning like crazy, could not sit still, I was alone luckily.) I was jabbery as all hell, still am.

Side effects: My heart raced for a while, maybe 10 to 15 minutes which scared me. Possibly I did a bit too much because of this effect? I did such little bumps maybe I need to wait longer. I had some moderate chest pain and still do, and I am a bit figgety.

Anyone else tried these? Please list what kind of effects they were and the different kinds etc. Mine was called "Eight Ballz" lol (I thought about not listing cause I don't wanna seem like an advertiser)

Edit: Two hours no redosing so far, and well I still feel it big time. Did not expect this wow. I totally believe kids going to the hospital on this, if you think you're a badass and underestimate it or something, I could see it being pretty dangerous. No way this will be legal for too much longer.

Edit 2: I am hearing these are usually MDVP or Mephedrone?

The shitty thing is once it becomes illegal the guys who are coming up with these RCs will just introduce something more dangerous and less-researched upon the general public.

It happened in the U.K. and now it's happening in the U.S.

Funny thing how history repeats itself.

Too many people think that because it's legal it's not going to be dangerous. They never seem to remember that everything was legal at one point...

I'm curious about this substance myself, and might give it a go sometime soon, but the only thing that scares me is the comedown. I'm not a stimulant guy either, and I don't do very well with comedowns. MDMA is not too bad, at least I can lay in bed and be somewhat comfortable but coke comedowns really really get to me. They make me feel soooo sketchy and gross afterward. It seems like I'm incabable of thinking a positive thought during this time. Let it be know however, that I've never really used anything besides pot for a comedown. One time I took a large dose of pod tea on an MDMA comedown and it completely negated it. I felt amazing. I imagine I will wait till I have strong opiates before I do this. Report back when you're crashing if you can, and let me know how it is.

@Neighborhood oh yeah there was a ton of mephedrone addicts there once right, but it is illegal now yes? From what I understand in the USA they can sell it as long as it isn't for human consumption, just like poppy pods are for "crafts" but making the tea is illegal.

@shady That is so true man, good point. Heroin was once totally legal and thought not to be addicting! Then look at pot, so harmless, I don't even smoke and I say that, and it is totally illegal here and most places wtf?

People are stupid. Most Americans don't read news sources from outside the United States. Maybe if they did they would know that the exact same fucking thing happened in the United Kingdom a few months ago, they banned it, and it is doing them more harm than good.

But seriously, when has anybody ever learned from others' (or their own) mistakes? Never, it seems, at least when it comes to buying random powders just because they're legal.

They may or may not contain MDPV, mephedrone, caffeine, or, well, they could contain anything, or a mix of anything and anything else. We don't know what your "bath salt" contains. Send it to a professional lab and get a GC/MS done on it and report back to us if you really want to know.

The truth is, very few people know what is really in these things, which makes them even worse than the media-driven "meow meow" scare that the U.K. had a few months ago.

At least they knew what chemical they were getting.

Edit:

@ OP:
Yes, it is illegal there now, but all that's happened is the vendors are either sending their leftover stock of mephedrone/MDPV/whatever else-drone and letting the illegality aspect fall on the consumer, or sending them newer (and most likely more dangerous) RCs instead.

I'm not trying to be an ass, and I'm really sorry if I come off that way, but I've seen news story after news story from sources here in the U.S. that are exactly like the ones that were running in the U.K., and post after post on this forum and others where people are asking what drug they just took. Dude, I don't know what drug you just took. I know what drugs I've taken today. Just because its not illegal, or is sort of illegal but sort of not because they're selling it as something else, whether it be "bath salts", "plant food", or whatever, doesn't mean it's not dangerous and doesn't mean it can't seriously hurt you.

Little to nothing is known about these drugs, and the fact that you don't really know what you're getting makes it even more of a mystery.

Well I did know what I was getting into, or atleast as best as I could. I did some research and stuff, that's why I had named Mephedrone and MDPV etc. I just didn't want to sound like a know it all from reading you know? Also trying anything new can be dangerous if you don't control your dose, which is why I took it so slow etc. But I am not insulted by your post, it's really hard to piss me off honestly.

That's good, I'm sorry about coming off so harsh, I'm taking my anger out on the Internet, never good. I'm glad you weren't offended :)

But seriously, be really careful. Like, really careful, when dealing with bath salts and RCs in general....

Depends on the bath salt. "Ivory Wave Ultra" is cut MDPV. "Recharge Extra" (which I also tried recently) is something different, probably methylhexanamine/DMAA. I had a *nasty* reaction to the latter, consisting basically of a 4-hour panic attack where I almost dialed emergency. *SO* not recommended.

You speak the truth here, and I agree. Better to take out anger on the internet than on your loved ones, so that's fine :D. You must do everything in moderation to be safe, your advice is very good, and I will always be careful. There is often a fine line between good place and OD.

I've tried Tranquility recently and it was nice, but it doesn't work well for me.

I get a nice euphoria and stimulation, kinda like a very mild Mehtylone/MDMA. The problem is that I get all these nasty effects from it like muscle paralysis and numbness in my face/lips/neck. It seriously paralyzes the muscles in my throat so that I can't swallow right. It also feels like it disables my diaphragm so I have trouble taking a deep breath. I also get really irritated eyes for some reason.

It's a shame, because I like the high but the other effects are rough and then when it wears off the nasty effects stay for a few days and I feel like shit. I've talked to a few other people and I'm the only one that has experienced those kinds of effects. Somebody in the forum suggested that it might be an allergic reaction to something it's cut with.

I tried it twice. The first time I took way too much and the second time I snorted a small bump and got the same effects, it just didn't hit me as hard.

I have tried tranquility as well, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was pretty strong though, but it was nice. Kinda a mix of MDMA with amphetamines. Made me feel wonderful, as well as made me extrememly motivated to make a lot of phone calls, get work done, get some writing done, etc. I did notice the extreme vasoconstrictive properties of it, though, which was teh only bad part. My anxiety got pretty bad at one point but it was certainly manageable.

It was very 'more-ish' though.. After every line or bit I smoked I would fiend like crazy. I didn't stop til the whole package was gone, then slept for like two solid days.

I knew most of this going into it, though, so i was prepared. You are right though, it certainly is no joke. I could see people going overboard real easily, since the dose required is quite low.

The thing I have noticed the most is the "multiplier effect" it has. Lets say you do x amount and hardly feel anything, so you assume you can do the same again and be fine, SO NOT TRUE! It is amazing the fine line there is between being good feeling and being overboard, I mean it is literally incredibly minuscule of a difference. I am not a stimulant guy at all, but I enjoyed trying it. I won't be doing it again though, it's too hardcore for me lol, I like the subtlety of opiates.
