Upon browising BL for years now, I find myself sorely lacking in terms of the nitty gritty chemical analysis of different substances. My question is - where did you guys acquire your knowledge? I want to get a better grasp of SAR, such as functional groups and how they relate to metabolism and effect...you know, that sort of thing. Where do I start? I'm currently enrolled in year one pharmacology at my local Community College, but somehow everybody here contains a wealth of information. I want to be able to analyze chemical structure and make sense of it - and the differences between structures - and what that means practically. Sorry if this sounds like a rookie question - but I myself am a rookie. If somebody could point me in the right direction, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I would love to know this as well, drug structure and the details of how they work in the body has always fascinated me. The only information I've been able to find has been polarised from extremely basic information (ecstasy reverses the serotonin transporter, cocaine inhibits dopamine reuptake etc) to very very advanced drug science with advanced scientific terminology that is somewhat overwhelming. I'll be following this thread closely, but I won't hold my breath - I've asked this question before both here and in ADD and didn't get any satisfying answers.
