base, speed, meth

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I did try and do a search for it and found nothing but freebase stuff.
Why is base better than speed? I've had it, and am having more tonight but I was just curious to find out why it is different as I have never heard this.
Then I'll be really cheeky and slip in another question - how's meth made? How does base compare to meth? Maybe this would be a good, and short, addition to the FAQs page (although they're not really FAQs...). Cheers.

Base Vs Speed
As for meth. Well, it's a different chemical altogether. It's not amphetamine, it's methamphetamine. It is more potent by weight, has a significantly better high, different chemical properties etc etc. You won't get instructions on how to make it here, since that's illeagal.
Methamphetamine is not generally available in UK and Europe, unless you are a scottish skier. Then it seems to be quite easy to obtain

Great link! One thing I'm not 100% sure on - when you say "base" you ARE referingto cocaine, not meth, right? Because methamphetamine base isn't worth anything - it's a nasty oil... just to clairify...

Hey PhreeX, I was just wondering why is methamphetamine freebase useless? I would think that since it's not in it's salt form it would have a lower boiling point than MethHCL, and therefore be actually easier to smoke? Or would you end up just burning it all and be left with a black crusty mass?

And yes Base is a term we use in the UK for high quality speed (by high quality read as, not as cut to shit as normal speed). Base is just slang for good speed (Amphetamine sulphate).

where i'm from in the UK (manchester) Base usually refers to stickier and thus less cut speed speed. The reason for this stickyness, as i understand it, is something to do with the speed not being crystalised correctly, so it stays as more of a sticky, gooey substance. Because its so sticky it makes it harder to cut otehr things into it, so your much more likely to get purer speed than buying the correctly cyrstalised stuff. If you dry it up it makes it easy to cut and snort though .

For once andfor all, lets explain this "base" thing..
When you make methamphetamine (and I have done this countless times in my days of methSynth) you first do all the extraction of p-fed from the pills, yer reactions, and all that shit... now, you have a liquid, you use sodium hydroxie (Red Devil Lye) to extract the meth oil from your reaction mixture .. you then have, well, more slop... you then adjust the pH of your methamphetamine oil .. you now technically have methamphetamine - but it's a nasty oil and it really couldn't get you high, so it must be crystalized so you have a solid substance to work with.. that oil is your freebase, you can't really do anything with it except gas it...
So enouhg with this talk about "methamphetamine freebase" being usefull for getting high...

Ive always wondered how people in metro areas get their gas. being in a smaller town with lots of countryside and fields its easy to come upon in the errr "wild".
