why not have something to counter the rip off thread? :D

so the other day i stopped at a flee market on the way home from work to find some vinyl. i got 3 creedence clearwater records for a dollar a piece, but that's not the good score! i noticed a couple hockey jerseys and checked em out, they were in good shape, like NEW... one was a jagr jersey... i said "how much for the jagr jersey?" the guy said "well... i'm askin 25, but i'll sell it to you for 15" i said "SOLD!"

I LOVE finding good deals on things. Most of my clothes, books, and a lot of other stuff are bought 2nd hand. I loooove using coupons on things and buying stuff on sale. And I frequent woot and yugster. I also check for promotion/coupon codes whenever I buy online.

i only get good deals on screamo and old punk vinyl
the old screamo, inb4 hawthorne heights.

2nd page 99 7" for $2, worth $50 or so
same for nofx's 1988 7".

A perfectly fitted (somehow to me) double-breasted suit, hand made in Belgium at a charity shop for £7, a hand made banjo at the same charity shop for £100 - never played a better one in my life, and I've been playing for yonks now.

Oh, and I found a plastic bag containing twenty 7g baggies of Kratom!

Overall, today has been OK.

Haha awhile back I made the score of the century.

Bought 2 PDA's for $2 a piece. Sold them for $200 a piece.
I guess the people selling them didn't know how much they were worth.=D

i belong to several online sample sale sites like swirl, ideeli, hautelook, gilt group and the sample sale. so many of my high-end clothes i get 50-90% off retail price. i bought a designer purse that retails for $400 for $70. the best part if nothing fits or i don't like the item in person, i sell it on eBay and make a profit.

recently though, i was shopping on endless.com for a pair of heels. i found a pair that i liked that were on sale but did a quick search to make sure i was getting the best price. i ended up finding them on amazon (which owns endless.com) for $45 less. all told, i bought a pair of $275 shoes for $115.

another site i've been loving lately is groupon.com. each day they offer a daily coupon by city (e.g. pay $40 and get a $100 treatment of your choice at a local spa). i've signed up for both vegas and phoenix.

Idk if this counts, because I didn't actually pay for anything...but my friends and I do a clothing swap every couple months and its AWESOME. I highly recommend it for any group of girl friends! It started out because a whole bunch of us got pregnant and had our first baby at around the same time so we decided to do a baby clothing swap with option of bringing mom clothes. (Maybe we were freaked out about our sizes after just giving birth) Some girls brought like 5 bags of clothes, accessories, CD's, etc.... you name it!!! So we all ended up with not only a bunch of great baby stuff, but stuff for ourselves too Its like garage sale shopping on crack lol

We just had our most recent clothing swap a couple months ago and its so great to shed unused items from your closet and see another sexy lady put it to good use. Same with coming home with bags and bags of clothes for yourself. Its SO AWESOME!!!

^ We do that at work a few times a year. We have stuff laying out on a table and people take/give whatever they want. It's awesome.

theres this thrift store that i go to sometimes with my mom, and i found a leather camel colored bucket bag from the sak for $9.00, i also found a cute strapless gap dress for $8.00

My Mom got some books bequeathed to her by the spouse of her former boss, with whom she was a close friend. One of the books is a volume of Plato from 1903; another is a volume of Cicero translations from 1741(!), in excellent condition. Gratis. :)

I don't belong to heaps of websites, but i do market research for www.thesoup.com.au and get my best bargains from:

www.brandsexclusive.com.au - I just got another kore komplex complete kit (face products) for $99 (RRP $310). HUGE saving.

I also use zeina's perfume house - major discounts on perfume

I'm a member of scoupon & zoupon which have wonderful daily deals on products, restaurant meals and experiences (day spas, balloon rides, etc)

Catch of the Day is also a wondeful website - there is a lot of crap, but also some fantastic deals and great stocking stuffing things over xmas for around $5-$10

I have an app on my iphone called shopsavvy - you scan the barcode from something or type in the product name and it will search the internet for the cheapest online option. For instance, we just bought a Scanpan set during the post xmas sales here in Melbourne - we got 50% off the set of 4. We really wanted the large roasting tray as well, but they didn't have it in stock, so we scanned the barcode off an empty box and came up with a couple of options that were cheaper than 50%.

www.yourhomedepot.com.au and www.everten.com.au are FANTASTIC for high-end cooking/kitchenware.
