barbiturates in system, how long?

I took one pill 50mg, it was a barbituate caffeine and acetaminophen Combination. I only took one n never have before. I need to take a clinical Urine test for a job.. jus wondering How long you think itll be in my system. It was like two days ago

Just as an FYI the term "barbiturate" refers to a class of drugs and not any single one in particular. Each barbiturate metabolizes at it's own rate therefor it's imperative for you to know which barb you took in particular if you ever plan on finding your answer.

Now I'm not sure if there are any similar barb/caffeine/APAP formulations but the most commonly prescribed (and the only one I know of) is Fioricet, a tablet containing butalbital/caffeine/APAP.

Butalbital has a half-life of 35 hours. In other words every 35 hours half of the drug is metabolized ie. Starting with 50mgs, after 35 hours you still have 25mgs left, after 70hrs 12.5mgs, 105hrs 6.25mgs etc... in other words expect it to linger for a lot longer than 2 days. Being that this is technically a drug testing question I've gotta close this though. No drug testing questions of any kind allowed on BL.
