Phenobarbital with no tolerance to barbs, only if you take over 200mg-300mg+ are you really in any risk of respiratory depression. Since pheno isn't that great on its own there have been cases where people mixed it with opiates, soma and even alcohol.
As mentioned previously phenobarbital (if you take it first and wait for it to peak) will make pretty much any sedative more intense and you will get pretty wasted on a mere 2-3 beers if you take/drink while on it or a day after consumption.
I personally drank up to intoxication on phenobarb (200mg) and separately on 250mg amobarbital, though not indicated.
p.s. phenobarbital isn't euphoric by any means at least on it own even if u take big doses over 300mg but it does have is place to potentate other sedatives, alcohol is the most affected but it potentates benzos also ive heard though never tried that pheno and soma is pretty nice. In my opinion the best time to take pheno is if u have 2-3 days u want to relax and where either benzos aren't enough/too boring or if you want to take less benzos, number 2 this will get me flamed but I find taking it with alcohol (a couple beers) is one of the chilliest ways b/c you don't get drunk and when you do you easily go to sleep (in doses under 200mg..200mg is too much a buddy takes 200mg for sleep so careful but 100mg-150mg isn't that dangerous)
