Baking soda: the latest target in the war on drugs

I kind of feel bad for the people who still think that making drugs and drug items less available will solve drug-related societal problems.

On the other hand this might make people go for Cocaine more often than Crack, which is harm reduction.

Its definitely not the worst I've seen.

Being pro-harm reduction doesn't sound to me like a politician. Don't know where that came from. Is it because he implied crack is more damaging to the body than cocaine? Well, isn't it?

shit i heard they use water to make crack as well lets make that schedule 1 as well! They also make meth with batteries lets ban those fuckers as well!

yeah! too many people are drowning every year! we need to criminalize swimming. its getting out of control!

im just curious what your rational is saying that cocaine is less harmful then crack?

some would say its slightly more addictive but would you really argue its more harmful?

im not saying they are on an equal playing field but i would tend to believe they are, why is it you feel cocaine is safer then crack?

Crack is cocaine and cocaine is crack.

'Both' are extremely dangerous, depending on the ROA.

Granted you're more likely to overdose/die from injecting cocaine as opposed to smoking it.
Whether it be base or hydrochloride is kind of irrelevant though.

If only the people wanting to ban baking soda realized this.

The breakdown compounds from pyrolysis of cocaine ("smoking crack") are not "hallucinogenicaly stimulating"; they are mostly inactive in humans - but useful as markers for crack smoking as they are not produced in significant quantities from powder cocaine usage.

I have read that new compounds are created when smoking cocaine which are hallucinogenic. I may find a source if needed.

I believe the political movements is slowly changing tune. This is debatable when it comes to intravenous injection.

Again, I do, due to increased nuerotoxicity and addiction resulting from an earlier peak of effect and speed by which the chemical passes the BBB. Crack is very damaging to the lungs, though "cut" intravenous cocaine is. Both are far more damaging when impure.

I do not think people are more apt to inject than they are to insufflate if crack is unavailable

Good point. So used to snorting the stuff that I tend to forget many users prefer slamming it. I can't stand the ears ringing, but I cannot deny that it felt insanely good (the one time I IV'd - but it was so long ago that, again, I honestly forgot).

I live in Missouri, and this deeply sadennes me. Missouri has a meth epidemic, but cocaine is not particularly prevalent in my state. This is just an extension of the pseudo-ephedrine legislation that put all cold medications and decongestants behind the counter. There is a registry that you must sign in order to get your cold medicine. Is the DEA going to track my baking soda consumption? I occasionally cook crack, but I usually use it as a deodorizer. What is wrong with my beloved state?
