So they say wellbutrin isnt habbit forming but I've developped a nasty habbit. Its effects are definately mild unless Im on other drugs as well. I've been snorting it consistantly for about a month now. What are the consequences of snorting it? My nose does'nt bleed or anything because I do small lines over a long period of time and rinse my nose out with saltwater. How long until permanent nasal damage is done? There's roughly a gram of powder that comes from the wellbutrin xl 300mg (Which is actually a better ratio than some street drugs). I've been snorting 1-2 grams of this almost everyday.

Dont laugh or call me retarded because I literally CANNOT stop and I have no idea why!! I get intense cravings for the feeling of snorting it, as well as for the subtle buzz it causes.

Holy shit man, snorting wellbutrin? One if my friends dared me to do that once. It hurts like hell! I wouldnt think it would take too long for some damage to be done. You can become emotionally/mentally addicted to anything. What is it about it you like so much?

Only the drip hurts really. I dont snort big lines I literally divide the pill into 8 lines. It just causes this feeling in my head similar to other stimulants. It gives me energy and lifts me out of depression. I just love the rapid onset and instant gratification. taking it orally only makes me tired and bitchy.

Upon consulting a person I believe to be the smartest person I know (As far as psychoactive drugs and addiction go), I have learned that it's possible because I snort it numerous times per day. He also told me that if it affects dopamine, I'm "training" myself to use it. Not because it increases dopamine to extreme levels, but hardly off baseline levels and is taken throughout the day. This forms a much stronger memory in the braincells which causes habbit. Kind of like cigarrettes if you think about it because they dont get you high but when you have 20 or 30 a day, you're training your brain to associate pleasure (however mild) with an external source.

Regardless of the ROA, high doses of Bupropion are dangerous. I noticed that you said you also combine it with other drugs. This can be especially dangerous and I am surprised you have not had seizures. Bupropion is notorious for lowering seizure threshold and the literature is awash with case reports.

Your "liking" of the experience is not unusual though, as Bupropion inhibits the reuptake of of norepinephrine and dopamine. Be careful, your habit strikes me as very dangerous for such little reward.

It can cause a mental addiction and a physiological dependence, especially when taken in high doses long-term. Wellbutrin is a stimulant, and a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and releaser. You should try to stop snorting it and gradually taper your dose down. You will need to get some help for your mental addiction.

Snorting anything for extended periods of time can destroy your nasal passages. I didn't even think Wellbutrin had any recreational value; but people can become addicted to anything. To reiterate what people have already said, try to taper down. Starting with lowering the amount you're snorting. Try to get used to taking it orally.

What 'pissangel' said.
I can't even imagine some of the stuff I read on these boards. How many trolls we got here?
Snorting Wellburtrin? Well, that's a first for me...and there's been a lot of shit up my nose... when I was a kid.

Before Wellbutrin was even invented, TG.

umm, snorting wellbutrin sounds dangerous, but whatever. You won't do permament damage to your nose until you start getting nosebleeds after you snort. Once you start bleeding, permament damage is creeping in.

^Yeah, I've definitely heard of people snorting Wellbutrin before (not that it's a good idea of course). It's a mild stimulant. I think some people throw out the "troll" accusation way too easily.

Yeah I don't think its ridiculous to imagine someone snorting Wellbutrin as most who take it at therapeutic dosages will attest that a stimulating "buzz" can be found the first couple times its taken and the viability of most other psychostimulants by this route.

I used to take Wellbutrin and did insufflate it occasionally and can tell you that there is a greater buzz through this method.

Given that its mechanism of action differs only slightly from Methylphenidates also makes it seem recreational.

well, i took it (orally) and got nuthin.
Just a shaky feeling and a pain in my head.

This 'troll' thing was not directed at one in particular...just seriously.
As with any serious forum, with seriously concerned people, there will be 'trolls'.
Whatever you want to call them people writing ridiculous stuff to get a 'serious' reaction....for laughs.

Snorting Wellbutrin, well it sounded ridiculous to me...why not snort caffeine pills, coffee grounds, or ...I dunno...
Some yay? Hell, Even Olmifon might do you better, in the long run...

I must be out of the loop....these new highs. Okay.

TAKE AWAY MESSAGE:
Hey, if it works for *you*....knock yourself out.
Just think of long term happiness...everythings a crutch.
Which crutch causes the least unwanted side effects?
;)

P.S.
yes, the term 'troll' gets used way to often.
without most even knowing what it means.
