Bad Trip

I took shrooms for the first time yesterday and it wa great for a while but it eventually turned into a super bad paranoid anxious trip and it was the worst experience of my life. i'm just wondering if a certain combination of all the drugs i've had recently caused it.

i just started a higher ritalin (20 mg xr + 10 md ir)script monday. i had to stay up all night tuesday to work midnight to 8 am so i took another ritalin to stay up then another because i had class and work until 7pm the next night. when i was done i planned on going to sleep so i came home and took 3.5mg clonazepam just to try to go straight to sleep but a bunch of friends came over and i ended up just hanging out.

me and my buddy decided to run to the store for bogeys and i suggested we get some dxm to get the next day so we bought 3 bottles. by the time we got home we decided that we might as well take it that night. so i ended up taking like 550 mg spur of the moment and i started to enjoy it but i fell asleep pretty early.

i woke up at like 2 the next day and within like a half hour 45 minutes i was eating a pbj with like 3 grams of mushrooms in it. the trip started out good but by like 8pm i was completely freaking out and i was convinced i was going to die etc, its impossible to explain the mindstate i was in. but it was definitely terrible.

my question is.... was it just a regular bad trip or did the other drugs i took have something to do with it. i need to make sure it doesnt happen again lol

It could be either to be honest, but seems more likely you just had a bad trip. I find mushrooms better on a clear head and empty stomach. It makes it hard for someone to speculate, but DXM makes me weird the day after so that could've had an effect.

My question for you though is you said it started off good, but what happened that made it go bad? Was it the environment? Did something make you anxious or panic? I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the other drugs, but its sure possible it depends on the person. It seems like things just took a sour turn, why though I can't really give you an answer as idk what you experienced. Mushies are a beautiful drug, so I wouldn't let one bad trip ruin other possible experiences with it. Hope all is well and you are feeling alright.

I have taken mushrooms plenty of times over the years but the time I had a bad trip on them was the only time I ate them with peanut butter. Idk if the peanut butter caused the bad trip but that was enough to make me stop tripping on shrooms. Maybe the oils in the peanut butter have some effect on the shrooms or something but none the less, no more for me.

1. Shrooms work best on an empty stomach. No the PB did not "change" the drug in any way. To the statement that taking with food seemed to "cause" bad trips, that's not typical. Dunno, perhaps the presence of food causes an extended release effect that FOR YOU made the effect especially unpleasant?

2. To the OP, ***YES***!!! Going through all those different drugs, and sleep-deprivation etc. WILL DEFINITELY put your headspace off-balance and in a dark mode and much likelier to have a negative trip.
