Bad reaction to (legal) Matrix party pills?

a few months ago my gf had a horrible reaction to some 'herbal e' pills sold in vacuum sealed packs bearing Matrix logos and code.

We established from user reports that these were filled with 4-MMC...
Can anyone confirm that?
These pills were obtained from a "happy herbs" type of stall at an expo around dec 09

Assuming that's correct, has anyone had nausea or vomiting symptoms frpm 4-MMC?
These were very bad, and lasted somewhere between 14 -16 hrs, with vomitting almost exactly on the hour, every hour.

Also, I'm curious if there is any difference between 4-MMC and mephedrone?
I was told it is the existence and position of a methyl group in 4th position.

So any abreactions ever occured similar to those symptoms of nausea, during use of 4-MMC, or was she really the only one ever ;)?
 
I've never known anyone to experience anything like that from 4mmc, sounds like there was something else in the caps, and something nasty at that.

Yep, no difference, both are 4-methylmethcathinone aka (RS)-1-(4-methylphenyl)-2-methylaminopropan-1-one

Nomenclature

From the IUPAC (above naming) the terms R&S describe the configurations around the chiral carbon C2, 1- is the main carbon tail (sidechain) substitution point on the aromatic ring, 4- is the para methyl substitute on the aromatic (phenyl) ring, -2- is again the second carbon in the sidechain (where the amino methylamine group is attached, and -1- is the carbonyl or beta ketone group (beta keto - measured from the amino substituted carbon -which is designated alpha in respect to the amino group)

Interesting, I've been meaning to ask what's in Matrix. Are these things still being sold? I was given an empty packet for one of these at the BDO by a Bler on our team. There was some mention in an early thread iirc. If these are still being sold, does anyone know if the formulation has changed, i.e. if they still contain 4-MMC?

So these were legal highs sold to u in a packet? I doubt that there was any 4mmc in it. Must of been sumfn else. DMA or another chemical in it. Dont think it was pips either as both pips and 4mmc is banned and ilelgal in AU. As to ur question 4mmc is mephedrone and i have not know or heard of anyone geting sick from it. It has no comedown whatsoever.
 
4mmc is nufn compared to an MDMA or Ice comedown. I felt so happy so sober after i came off 400mg 4mmc that i could of gone to work straight after. Only thing i didnt like is that i chewed my face off as usual LOL

Ok, clearly 14hrs sounds far too long for 4-MMC.
But as to the naming, I'm perfectly satisfied with phase_dancer's organic nomenclature and I'm totally up for discussion, as long as someone can please say what the difference between 4-MMC and MCAT actually IS.
 
MCat originally (and still) refers to Methcathinone a drug in itself, whilst 4-MMC (or MMCat) refers to 4-MethylMethcathinone/Mephedrone, a different drug.

Using MCat as a slang for Mephedrone creates confusion, is inaccurate and doesn't help us reduce harm.

I agree 14 hours is way too long, I have no idea what was in that pill, sounds like it could be a piperazine with that duration.
