Heroin bad reaction to a herion shot.SCARED!

at site of injection there is a decently large blotchy redness .its warm &sore.the shot was done over 24 hrs ago.swelling has went down but is still red&sore.the shot was a miss but the needle was brand new &dope was cooked .area was cleaned with alcohol.

The person was recently released from a hospital for an arm infection in the same arm and has been taking augmentin.
 
I recommend seeing a doctor ASAP if you think the injection site has become infected, even though the person (or you?) in question is taking a course of antibiotics, seeking medical attention is the best course of action.
 
Probably the single best resource we have on the subject is the Injections Complications Mega Thread so please check that out and if you still have questions, direct them over there.

If you are using powder heroin (aka east coast or #4) you really don't need to be cooking it. The diacetylmorphine is readily water soluble and cooking it only allows more of the cuts to dissolve into the shot making it altogether more dangerous. Another great resource to further protect yourself is to get some micron filters... check out the obviously-titled link in my signature for that one.
