bad histamine release in ass from rectal codeine. any experiences or help?

just plugged 120mg pure codeine....

Ok, I know the ribbing this question will get, but I really would like to hear some serious input. I'm not joking by the way...

I plugged 120mg of pure codeine. I'm aware of the debate regarding the effectiveness of this method, but went ahead with the experiment. Knowing that codeine can make you itch, I was ready for that. What I was not prepared for was the INTENSE itch inside my ass almost immediately after plugging!

It's been almost 15 minutes and the itch is lessening, but I'm still fighting the urge to scratch that muther-f'ing itch!

Also, I can definitely feel the cod hitting... it's been a long time since I've taken any... so I have very little tolerance.

Anybody here plugged codeine and gotten that itch from hell inside your ass? Is that normal? It just surprised the hell out of me! 8o 8o
 
I haven't plugged codeine, but, it seems whenever any drugs go up my butt, even suppositories that are supposed to go there, my asshole (well, the area right inside of it really) is unbearably itchy...I just figured it was a side effect of a foreign body entering the rear, honestly.
 
I thought that codeine gave equal results from oral and rectal administration? 90% bioavailability and similar plasma concentrations from each ROA, if I remember correctly...
 
^ Oral causes a large histamine response as well. I don't see why using it rectally would decrease the histamine response.

OP: Don't worry about jokes for the most part we are all mature and sensible here. :)

You should try taking an anti-histamine just before the codeine, I suggest promethazine it's the best.

I think you're correct, but wouldn't plugging bypass the first pass metabolism? Thus interfering with the conversion to morphine?

I thought that was the main argument against plugging codeine. Either way, I've never plugged codeine, and when I plug other stuff it doesn't seem to itch. Could it be something else in the codeine? I know you said it was pure codeine, but perhaps a filler/binder in the pill?
 
Suboxone made me itchy in that area, and I was taking it sublingually. Other opiates do too, a little.
 
If you want only serious responses, why did you title your thread as a joke?

I second the recommendation by the fabulous Mr. B to take an antihistamine before or with the codeine to counter this/reduce its intensity.

yeah i don't get why people who want serious discussion come in making obscure titles. concise and to the point is what attracts people to threads here, we're not the lounge.

but seeing this is a more general discussion asking if anyones ever really experienced it belongs over in Basic Drug Discussion. you'll likely get more answers and interest in your thread there anyway.

haha, damn just plugged some codeine and half an oc15 after a hiatus of a two months. I also took 200mg lyrica and 2mg of xanies earlier. hopefully this turns out a good night after this rectal itching stops.

t+5 minutes: itching is dying down, feels like it will be gone soon!
