I definitely have bad eye sight while im on mxe. i usually have to close 1 eye to read things up close. I have bad eyesight normally and when im on mxe it's really bad. I'm wondering if doin?g MXE could be making my eyes worse from squinting so much? just wondering cuz im 20 years old and now realize im eventually gonna need glasses. I like MXE alot but i feel like its effecting my eyes now. any input on this?

Uh I've never done MXE or ketamine or anything but my eyesight always turns really bad when I'm on psychedelics.

They can cause temporary damage!! I abused some mix of mxe k and some other god for saken diss. for a few days in a row. Small amounts at a time. I get severe nystagmus every time I use K which isn't a problem untill I got horizontal periphery nystagmus. Gp said it should pass and if it get's worse to contact him. It got better and is now gone but I couldn't see at times, unable to focus while moving and couldn't walk in a straight line. I am so thankful of my body now that it has passed. So if this happens a lot I would stay away from constant abuse.

^ I would stay away from "constant abuse" regardless! But damn dudes, this is an effect of dissociatives! The wonky eye! Cripes!

And as Never stated, get glasses if you need them! Cripes2!

I took some stims like EPH, MXE, Phenazepam and my eyesight was worse temporarily.
I couldnt really narrow it down but I was sure it had to do with the consumption.

What completely reverted it was taking aniracetam for about 3 weeks until I didnt like it anymore.
It instantly made everything sharper, more colorful and detailed.

It could have been the MXE which is a dissociative and the aniracetam was sort of an anti-dissociative, from my limited understanding of the receptors involved that could be true.

If you have poor vision, you should get glasses already, it's not something to be ashamed of dude.

never done MXE so I can't contribute anything related to that but DEFINITELY get glasses. My eyesight started going bad sometime around 6th grade and I didn't get glasses until 11th. If you're shortsighted your eyesight will never improve past its current point so there's no point waiting for a miracle

Dissociatives do cause great impairment to your ability to focus your vision whilst you are high. I've noticed that even threshold doses of MXE cause slightly blurry vision, because my eyesight is razor sharp.

But I think they also can cause a longer lasting impairment (not necessarily permanent, I got my good vision back after cessation of use) of your visual acuity when used on a regular basis, and also your hearing. It can make your ability to focus on frequencies of the auditory spectrum less acute, so that music sounds flat and mushy.

I think the key part in your post is "when im on mxe" ;)

If the effect stays for the duration but then leaves afterwards, that doesn't suggest it's doing any damage. If however you start noticing your vision deteriorating after use, I'd be wary about risking taking any more.

I'm not sure about dissociatives causing lasting visual impairment in the usual sense of blurred vision, but they're certainly good at worsening visual snow/visual static.

The very first thing I wrote after coming out of a hole was "I cant read"
In fairness I could barely write either and it did take up an entire a4 page + a fair bit of desk...

My nystagmus is horrific on basically any drug except booze but taking a picture of what you're reading and reading it off your phone helps I find.

Doubt it will do serious eye damage or worsening, and considering my dads poor eyesight, and his dads and all my brothers I'm very much glad that basically my right is the only perfectly functioning one I have.

^It's not the cross-eyedness which causes nausea, it's the dissociative's effects on the brain's ability to make sense of the spacial cues which normally regulate gravitational balance (such as the inner ear fluid levels, muscular feedback, and visual feedback).

No, I mean visual feedback as in what is up and what is down. The body needs to know where it is in relation to the Earth, which is why it can sense gravity via the inner ear mostly, and the muscular feedback from which muscles are engaged in order to keep your body ion the position it is in relative to the earth, and finally the visual feedback of the horizon or whatever else tells you is up or down. You will still feel just as nauseous on alcohol if you close your eyes, because "the spins" are there regardless.

That's why astronauts have to train themselves to get used to zero gravity. The visual element of not being able to see any sort of up or down in space is one part of this.

Ive done my fair share of Dissociatives and i can no longer concentrate on anything close up and i also see these squiggly lines when i try to concentrate on something in front of me, float around me.

Im not sure,

I have done around 15grams of ketamine so not that much i guess, had a little dabble in mxe, took 800mg of DXM once, ive done a fair few drugs though, i think my vision changed slightly after doing 2cb.

I notice white walls are like a stained colour, like gamma on a monitor settings are wrong, i dunno its weird

I dont know whether its HPPD or not i just get on with it lol

I haven't done it myself, but after looking it up it seems it can cause pupil constriction which can last up to 8 hours after a larger dose. Could be the cause of your problem.
