Hey everyone,

So last monday I went out with a bunch of friends to a dubstep event at uni. Me and one friend (R) rolled, R had gotten the pills from a girl she knew pretty well, she has taken her stuff before and liked it. Anyway, I was pretty drunk when I took the pill, and had eaten a normal amount that evening. It took about and hour and a bit for the high to kick in, but when it did it was awesome. We were surrounded by a lot of other people who were on it, but most of our good friends were just drunk. It was a great time and I had a great roll.

Flash forward to that saturday. Me, R, and our other friend S decided to go out and take it again. We got it from the same source, the only difference was I hadn't eaten for about 6 hours before I took it and I wasn't drunk. Anyway, we get to the club, and I am feeling pretty bad. It hit me before it hit the other two (The come up for me was about half an hour), and it seemed to affect us pretty differently. My two friends were both feeling great, R was having a bit of nausea and not as intense of a roll as she did on monday, but S (the other friend) was loving it, having an awesome time all night. I, however, went straight to the washroom of the club and made myself throw up, because I was feeling very nauseous, sweaty, hot, shaky, and extremely anxious. I sat on the toilet seat feeling completely weak and nervous and distant from everything for about 20 minutes I think, until my friends came and told me to come out to the dance floor. I didn't think I was going to be able to walk, but I managed to make it out onto the dance floor and once I did I felt better.

My two friends were dancing the night away, making out with each other (lol), having an awesome time, but all night after the panic/nausea/distant feeling went away, I just felt pretty tired out. Good, but tired and not very high. I sat down for most of the night and eventually we went home and I was totally normal in the morning. The three of us are going out again in 2 weeks and are planning on dropping again, but I am so anxious over what happened last time that I don't know if I can do it.

Oh, and some important info: I am 19, female, about 130 pounds, and from what I know the pills were about 80mg and really good quality. It was the same stuff I had taken on the wonderful monday night, the only differences were that I hadn't eaten before, I wasn't drunk, and I was with less people. I don't know what exactly went wrong on saturday night, and I am hoping someone out there has had a similar experience and can help me out because it really scared me and I want to be able to have a good roll again.

what stamp was on the pills? there's pretty much only a handful of legit pills on the market right now 90% of which are located on the west coast. Sweating, nausea, weird emotional feeling..... very indicative of piperzine. check out www.pillreports.com and get a test kit to prevent bad experiences.

EDIT: I just realized the OP is probably from the UK which makes my post irrelevant, well all except the last bit.

Thank you for your responses - sorry, I should have been more clear in my post. They were capsules not pills, and I am in fact on the west coast. I know I said 'uni' haha but I'm not from the UK. I'm not so concerned as to the content of the pills because my friends were fine on them and I was fine on the monday and it was the same stuff according to our friend. I am more concerned with what factors may have contributed to what happened, like the fact that I hadn't eaten in a while or the people I was with. Can taking it on an empty stomach cause these effects in a smaller person? Do the people you are with effect your experience? Sorry if these sound like stupid questions, I'm a total noob.

Sounds like you took too much, as the experience tends to be more intense on the comeup when you take it on an empty stomach. Please look up 5-ht downregulation to understand why you should not have taken MDMA two weekends in a row. The least amount of time you should wait is a month.

^^^ this

and

Your friends ever test them? Its real common now for people to have no idea what MDMA is supposed to feel like. Sad but very true.

Just askin.

The suggested bare minimum wait time is 30 days- many theories lean towards 90 days being optimal for recovery. Shortening that period to a matter of days can make things take a down turn rather quickly, though some get away with it a few times before noticing it.

Prior to knowing any better, I had an experience where after doing MDMA every weekend 3 weeks in a row, the same pure MDMA sent me into an anxiety attack and panic for quite some time, even throughout the "roll" I could only think of things that were terrifying, and I could not enjoy myself.

The effects of MDMA change dramatically based upon how you treat it.

Ad others have mentioned, unless your friends are reagent testing the MDMA it's possible it's something else. There are many things that get sold as MDMA that are not.

Honestly I consider myself moar than experienced in these matters after 7 years of rollin on ecstasy....and 90 days is the sweet spot. You need to "forget" what rolling is like in order to roll hard again.

30 days is cool if your a NEWB, but that shit catches up after a year..

tread softly..

If you're not going to test a pill, I would just wait to see how the others in your group react to it before taking it. Maybe you just had a bad night. I wouldn't be nervous to try it again. This powder I have is supposed to be pure but I dont think it is, so I took a xanax with it to stay relaxed.

Ruby -
There is some very good advice on here by users much more experienced than you, so I hope you really listen.

MDMA de-activates an enzyme called TPH (tryptophan hydrolase).
The de-activation is 'permanent', meaning the body must produce brand new TPH.
This process takes at least ONE month, but up to THREE months after MDMA exposure.
People with heavier use or high enough doses, can take many months longer.

This is a big reason for the minimum waiting rule that goes around BL.
TPH is a critical enzyme that turns the amino acid tryptophan into serotonin.
Not only does MDMA turn off this very important enzyme, but it releases LARGE quantities of serotonin from storage in the brain.

This leaves you with much lower serotonin levels to ROLL with.

One theory of neurotoxicity involves the presence of MDMA after serotonin has run out!
After this has occurred, only your anti-oxidants stand in the way of 'oxidative stress'.
Another way to put this - mitochondria spill out of cell membranes, reacting with lipids (fat) in the brain, to create PEROXIDE.

Another theory suggests that dopamine is shoved into serotonin receptors that have run dry!
But both theories include the exhaustion of available serotonin.

In literally hundreds or thousands of animal studies - repeated administration is used to cause unmistakable 'brain damage', or neurotoxicity.

While the doses are quite high, esp. for rodents...
Plenty of primate studies exist that more closely resemble the 'binge' use too often seen in humans.
That means that permanent 'toxicity' occurs in the brains of primates that are taking the equivalent of just a few tabs - but for several days in a row.

The converging lines of evidence suggest that RE-DOSING is indeed the greatest risk factor!
Plenty of other factors exist, including an empty stomach.
I only had one bad MDMA comeup prior to my REALLY bad comedown, and it was the result of an empty stomach and intestines - from not eating all day.

MDMA is rapidly absorbed from the intestinal wall, so a lack of something to slow it down could cause problems.
Including higher than normal levels of cortisol!

Body temperature is another important factor influencing the 'damage' done to serotonin nerves in the brain.
Purity of substance is of course very important...contaminants or adulterants can have nasty interactions.
Since serotonin naturally declines with age, at about 5% per decade, age may be another factor.
Poly drug use is quite important too - even cannabis has shown a strong correlation to severe psychological problems in MDMA users, with the long-term heavy smokers showing the greatest deficit.

But more important than ALL of these factors - is DOSAGE.

The more advanced users, including chemistry and pharmacology students, understand this quite well.
That is because this principle holds true for ALL poisons.

Accept the fact that MDMA is a 'selective neurotoxin'.
If it weren't, your brain wouldn't embark on a powerful defensive response in the form of cortisol.
The subsequent release of oxytocin, prolactin, and dopamine are incredible, but unnatural.
More experienced users will tell you that these 'euphoric' effects eventually fade - sometimes within the first 6 doses!

Some long-term studies have found former MDMA users with decreased prolactin response to serotonin agonists even after 2.5 years of abstinence. That means real 'loss of magic'.

While some people take large doses and re-dose often...
BL is full of people like ME that were moderate or light users and STILL got burned.
Really burned.

MDMA is a drug to be respected and taken VERY seriously.
Don't let your 'friends' convince you otherwise.

Space rolls by 90 days.
30 is a minimum, not a suggestion.
60 days is probably safe if your doses are reasonable.

But more importantly, do NOT redose.
If you do anyways, make it small and take it within 2 hours of the original dose - that means before coming down.
100-150 mg is plenty for the first dose, but unless somebody has a precise digital scale - how do you know the dose being taken?

Just about ALL the people suffering from MDMA right now, both on BL and in the world over, could have been saved from their miserable fates if only they followed the ONE rule - NO RE-DOSING.
All other risk factors pale in comparison to this one.

And for the record, I consider rolling without adequate spacing to be a form of 're-dosing'.
It was the first time I rolled two weekends in a row, and two days in a row, that I realized how dangerous this drug is.

Take care of yourself Ruby.

Wow thanks so much. I actually had no idea about all that brain stuff. Maybe I'll postpone my next time for a month or so after reading all of this.
Thanks guys

Hi Ruby

My guess is that the roll hit you a bit hard because you had an empty stomach, and secondly you were all rolled out from the previous roll.
You don't say how experienced you are with rolling, but it sounds a bit as if you got a bit panicky and then felt wobbly.
Wait for a while before trying again, and when you do, do it somewhere with your mates in a safe environment like your own room. Having one or two small drinks before to steady your nerves is okay, but being drunk while rolling is asking for trouble.
Finally have a decent meal with plenty of carbs in it - think spag bol - about 4 hours before the roll.
