Believe it or not, I came of benzos, cocaine and even cigarettes(all which I have used, for over a few years), with bad withdrawals, but I always had pot to add “stimulation” let’s call it in those times of crisis. Why is it that the withdrawals from cannabis worse then benzos and cocaine(for me)? IT MAKES NO SENSE. So please I am asking you guys why these withdrawals are bad. I have been smoking pot nonstop for 10 years straight…. When I say 10 years I mean 10 years with about 2-3 days max of not smoking in those 10 years… Yes I do cough up tons of black (black black) so I know it’s time to quit, but why are the withdrawals so fucking hard? When conventional knowledge says I shouldn’t be getting any physical withdrawals that rival benzos or cocaine? :X

What are your symptoms? you can try to counteract each symptom, say nausea with ginger or dramamine/diphenhydramine, also helps with sleep. It may be terrible right now but remember there's no way it will last as long as acute benzo withdrawal, you've been through that. I am about to go through cannabis wd myself + opiate withdrawal and i've been through benzo wd as well, all fucking horrible in their own ways, good luck. If it's too bad try lowering your dose like a benzo taper, it will definitely make it easier.

it's so difficult because you are so used to being high, try not to think about it, try to distract yourself, take lots of showers.

It will get better man. Nicotine and Cannabis withdrawals are the only two w/d's I've ever had to go through but I have to tell you, I think both were pretty bad tho Cannabis affected my life more as there isn't a THC patch.

I remembered sweating a lot and having no appetite. Irritability persisted for quite a long time as well. Exercising does help though. If you tire yourself out, it is a bit easier to sleep. Purchase some melatonin as that should help with the sleep issues as well. As much as it will suck to eat for a while, force yourself to eat as much as you can as that will help with the irritability IME.

I like the showering tip, I did shower a couple times a day as no matter what, I was sweating excessively.

Why are the pot 'withdrawals' worse than the benzo withdrawals? Because you weren't that addicted to benzos. Buck up, it can't be that bad.

You should take this over the our MEGA Quitting thread, it's specifically to support people in your situation. Cannabis withdrawals may seem difficult, but keep your chin up - any w/ds caused by your cannabis drug use will likely not stick around for long. Some of your other symptoms are telling, particularly of other habits perhaps coming back to haunt you (including ease of addiction and the addiction mentality - this coming from an "ex" hard opiate habit).
