Ok, I have the option of graduating AT LEAST a year early with less headaches if I decide to take on a B.A. instead of a B.S. in my field (Earth Science). Now, some of the courses for the B.S. I have attempted, and I just do. not. get. the material even with a tutor.
Now, I will add this. I will be going to grad school at the university I am already attending. I have already discussed with the grad student acceptance committee my problems from many courses I took in 1999 where I, like others, developed a nasty drug habit and didn't show up to class. I did not tell them WHY I wasn't there since it's not their business, but I did tell them I had issues and have hinted to this. I will be receiving a Masters of Science in the same field.
Now, what I would like to know is...will the B.A. hurt me or will the M.S. override that a little?
I also have 2 minors (geography & women's studies), which are both liberal arts degrees at my school. However my main focus is a science-based degree.
Discuss, and help RR graduate.
