The vagabond who's rapping at your door, standing
Job center asked me today when signing on (i left my last job due to stress) if i tried to discuss my problems with my boss.

I did and this is what the hag said; "OUT HERE NOW !!!" "I DONT WANT TO KNOW. I DONT CARE IF YOUVE GOT TOO MUCH WORK OR ARE SNOWED UNDER. WE ARE ALL SNOWED UNDER! She raised her voice to bully, dominate, overpower and intimidate a less confident person, and the balance of power was totally unfair in that conversation.

This is clealry not proper management. I was stressed and anxious. "" that far from my 2nd nervous breakdown.

Can i sue the fuckin bitch for neglecting her duty of care to her employees and directly contributing to my worsening mental health..

Im going up against the biggest of corporations if i do this. (Errin Brokkovich drugbuddy lol) They have several times threatened people with libel for posting 'libelous comments on social media. So many people have as they lie in thier recruitment processes nad to get people to fill thier crappy jobs and treat their staff worse than the ugliest most bad tempered stinking mutt. The threat doesnt particularly scare me. Im not libelling them. Its true !

Half the mangers don't know how to talk to their staff as human beings. These merged corps made 8bn profit last year, and they cant afford to train or hire decent managers. Capaitalisam and exploitation at it extreme. Bring back the fuckin Unions.

Any thoughts. ?

Maybe i shoul let it go, but it all bubbled up last night, (sleepless night) and i cant stop thinking about it now.

I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying.

What exactly happened? You quit your post because of stress issues, which were ignored by management, is that correct?

In a nut shell. She provided no support, or efforts to share the workload more fairly, and demonstrated no duty of care. She was only ever nice to me when HR told her to be. I can see straight through the transparent idiot.

I should say that HR did try to help.

Tricky situation for sure. The thing about taking former employers to court is that you start from an extremely disadvantaged position, they can dedicate time and resources to win the case that are above what you can muster. Employment tribunals do seem symphatetic in many cases.

If I were you I would get legal advise, sit down with a laywer and talk things through, make sure you go through all the potential outcomes and consequences before you take any type of action.

these things are soo hard to prove....just let it go

take comfort in the fact that that bitch will eventually be working under someone she has previously bullied or is probably being treated like shit herself

just be glad you got out and find something better,
you cant take anyone to court untill you've been there two years anyway [ i believe ] and big corparations have experienced lawyers and use stalling tactics to drag it out....you're so unlilkely to get either an apology or big cash pay out i doubt its worth the hassle

if you have strong feelings about how people should be treated and have some experience of mental health issues have you ever considered working in care ?? just a thought as its an almost recession proof 'industry' and being nice is rewarded

I was there for well over 2 yrs but i take yr point.

Funnily enough, thats exactly what i plan to re-train for: drugs worker/counsellor. Sod false modesty i think i could be good at that. I have a large chunk of relevant real life experience to be able empathise, some 'foot in the door' qualifications, the support of the team where i am currently being counselled. Their reactions have been positive so far.

So half did? Wow. Way higher than anything I've ever encountered from managers. You should think yourself lucky.

Which is a bit of a narky way (apologies) of saying drop it. Welcome to the world. Compensation culture is shit. The drugs, however, are over there.

PS What's a union? :\

You need to find a method of complaint that will be effective in getting your point across. It's not about getting your job back (is it?) but it's not about taking it lying down either. I'm in a similar situation, I lost my job through absolutely no fault of my own, and the pair of fat, lazy, smelly bastards told everyone they'd sacked me for being a thief. I might use drugs, but I am no fucking thief, and that hurts. The reality is that I was due almost £1000 in overpaid tax back, and they couldn't afford to pay me - so they fired me on the spot. I absolutely get what you are saying when you say you get bubbled up. But in all honesty, I think you are going to be fighting a losing battle. I always find the best way to be heard in situations like this, is to put pen to paper and get yourself heard at the highest level possible. Other than that, unless you have a load of cash to burn in small claims courts and all that malarky, I think you've got to just 'get over it'. They've got the upper hand in every sense. Seriously though, put a letter together. I always find it makes me feel tonnes better once I know a well articulated letter is going to find its way onto someones desk.

These situations are really tricky. Both in proving, and making a decision to fight your corner. I've been in this situation before, and for me, I have to say, the stress of fighting my case helped to end a relationship I was in. So you must ask yourself if it's worth the stress. Especially if you left due to stress in the first instance.

If you do decide to fight, then get yourself a solicitor who deals specifically with employment issues. Document all and any contact with your previous employers, and speak to them only in writing. If you were with a union during your time with the company, contact them. If not, if you contact a union now, they wont be able to represent you, but some will still give valuable advice and support. You could also try Acas http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461 . They can help mediate on your behalf with your previous employer.

The only issue you will encounter, is that, because you have now left the company, any grievance you have against them, will be much harder to prove.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do buddy. All the best.

Out of experience, anyway only the cuntish managers do well in a company, ie rise to the top. Whilst all the nice managers get left behind, been the case many a times. Nicest managers seem to get the boot for not being ruthless enough.

The nice ones are forced to become cunts. I've seen ardent socialists drop all their principles and any "nice guy" qualities after a couple of years in management. It's proof that material conditions drive behaviour, not so much values, background or personality.

Material conditions can also affect values and personality.

Quite. I should have written that, but I was in a hurry :) My material conditions led me to produce a substandard post.

Whether they win or lose it still costs them thousands to be taken to tribunal so you should do it just for shits and giggles. Even if you represent yourself and dress up as mickey mouse.

Might give the bitch a few sleepless nights of her own.

Chances are you'll calm down and decide to walk away.

Thanks for all the replies. A way better haul of quality replies than id expected. Ive just had 90 mins kip as so tired from sleep deprivation last night. At least got a bit more energy now than curling up into a ball. Im sure that 3,4 cmtp lasts days days at the smallest of active doses and kept me awake two nights running on just 24 mg spread over 48 houurs

Ive already chucked 1 gram after it made very ill, forgetting i already had another 1 purchased earleir. :| Its going down the sink now, any1 want it ? Too late.

It brings no good. Even the aphrodisicial qualities are hit and miss, unless you take loads. Then the heart papls become worrying. God i sound like Woody Allen. You cannot eat or drink on it.

My counsellor seems to be helping me see that im a fantasist (i can accept that, not gonna argue with her, but want to pin point it more than that). I see what she means when i see myself considering things like mydrugbuddy vs an $8bn corporation.

At least im only building castles in the sand, not living in them. !

Sometimes managers are under a lot of stress and pressures themselves and don't handle it too well. I've had a few managers later apologise for their stress-induced attitudes.

But some are just cunts. If you wanna get her back, find a few other staff who feel the same and file a complaint to the manager above. They hate that more than anything. It embarrasses their "professional" relationships with their seniors.

Excatly what SHM said. Managers are cunts mate. Fuck them all I'm afraid brother. Sorry to put it so blunt. Also your word against theirs.

i thought you were on about the job centre staff at first. i've just come back from holiday. my aunt told me i looked 10 years younger. i said really? that's probably because i don't work with bastards any more. :D

the bastards i used to work with .(not for, with) one particular bastard told me that i wasn't showing the same commitment as the person above me; that the big boss saw potential in me, he however didn't. he asked me if i had any spud muncher in me. he referred to my mother county (Derry) as being in the dirty north. He undermined me constantly. He got a promotion. i know his downfall will come. He wants to be a tory mp and is a failed footballer and a wanker.

the one above me was threatened by my superior intelligence and personality so she made sure that she did the job i was qualified for while expecting me to prepare the work for her to deliver. (I didn't prepare the work: why should I? but she got me into to trouble over it and it put a hell of a lot of stress on my head)

yes, I used to work with bastards. I am financially poorer now but spiritually richer. I wish I had done something about the spud muncher comment but never mind. I'll wait till he's a tory mp and sell my story to the daily mail.
