What is this and why is it happening to me every little while? Im like dreaming and I wake up... but I'm like not actually UP.. but I think i am?

Its like I wake up and I can SEE only one spot, my eyes wont move. Then I try as hard as I can to roll around, get up , move my head, do ANYTHING and it FEELS like im doing it but NOTHING is actually happneing, and it a dream? Like i finally am able to move my head, and then i realize it was a dream.

But how and why is the dream just as if i woke up and looked at my ceiling or my room and I cant move or anything? Its really scary, a lot more scarier when it first happened. But it just feels like im helpless, It feels like im yelling for help but i cant and no one responds. Its so strange... What is this.. what causes it?

I had that, but everything looked in a red tint and i felt restrained, i had to put all my willpower into snapping out of it. it only happened once and it was after doing cccs 3 days in a row =X never again. What drugs did you do?

None i just take melatonin and some xanax usually at night to sleep. Ive been clean for 11 weeks as of tommorow (thursdays). I take suboxone regularly though.

But yeah i feel like i put so much energy and I feel as if im moving but im really not. And Im able to snap out of it after like 10 tries. Its so weird... really. And then I had a dream I like went to a costco type place, went there and had sex with pornstars with a friend that worked there haha then after i went and worked as a cashier and had no idea what i was doing and i finished, and it was at the mall and then cops were chasing me i tried to out run them and they caught me and i struggled to get awake, for some reason even though it was bizzare it felt real. But anytime in dreams when im in distress i jerk myself up

Well for me, my sister and i had the same dream of a man with a black cloak on a horse. But when i woke up i couldnt move and there was this red haze. I know it wasnt something normal but im just pretending like it didnt happen. but yeah that feeling of not being able to move is shitty, i hate being restrained.

Try wiggling your big toe rather than moving your whole body to snap out of it.

This is definitely sleep paralysis. I've had it once before. I saw a roughly 7ft tall shadow figure watching me from the doorway to my room. Hallucinations are fairly common during this state because the mind is still dreaming. It is also known as "Old Hag Syndrome" because one of the most common hallucinations that people have is of a hideous old woman floating above them smothering them. These visions occur in all types of people and cultures around the world. Seeing "shadow people" are also fairly common. Sleep paralysis is also a common explanation for alien abduction and demonic encounters because victims of both these "supernatural" events report similar symptoms: being awake, but unable to move and difficulty breathing.

Next time it happens just remain calm and try to remember that whatever you are seeing can't hurt you unless you let it. Close your eyes and take slow deep breaths until you get back to sleep. Once you are asleep you should be able to wake up normally.

Sleep paralysis is a very interesting phenomena, and once you no longer fear it you may find it to be somewhat enjoyable, similar to lucid dreaming. I hope that this helps. Knowledge is power, the more you research and understand the condition, the less frightening it will be next time it happens. Good luck, let us know if you have any new experiences!

Sleep paralysis is cool..

Sometimes i can still be in a dream and have it happen (dream turns fucked up then i get heavy and slowly lose the ability to move).. sometimes i can be half and half.. like eyes open, i'm in my room but im seeing things that aren't there and it's usually accompanies by a pressure that holds me still.. or some can be just that with no hallucinations.. but they are all wierd as fuck (the emotion behind it / the strangeness of the dream)
